    Would a pencil work for this mod ?

    2x2GB Kingston HyperX DDR2-800
    Asus HD 5870
    Corsair TX-850
    WD Velociraptor 150GB / WD Green power 500GB

    can I just pencil or solder this mod?

    You will be fine with solder. It will have the same effect as conductive ink

    Had it on my old P35-S3.
    Almost 0 droop with Q6600 =)
