This is the template that I used. It was awhile ago and I cannot seem to remember what I did to get to 3.8ghz. I know it started getting pretty hot so I decided not to push it until I get a better cooling setup.

This is for a 3.6 Ghz OC with a QX6700

This is with the stock BIOS or 0401. I will update that in a bit after I finish
backing up everything. Not real sure which is a good working BIOS atm and
reading through these threads, 902,903 seem to give others problems and
hard to flash backwards. I think I have seen a few posts with 602 or 802
    that seem to work fine.

I used the basic setup from the first post and worked from there. Using a
8x450 would not post for me, even up to CPU 1.5v. At that point I changed
to 9x400 and it went smooth. Ended up dropping to CPU 1.468v and that has
    been stable all day.

So in the end I just wanted to give this BIOS a shot to see what it could do.

In Everest it shows the CPU temp, then the temps for all 4 cores which seem
to be higher temp's. Which are the correct temps ?

I will most likely not Prime this as I will update the BIOS and will do it then.

And Thanks a bunch for this updated thread !

EDIT: The PLL is set to 1.56V this comes up as 1.712V reportd by BIOS
I have try it 3 times (SET in Bios 1.66v, 160V & 1.56V) and appears that my system is stable in Prime p95v256 (so far)

Just to say that this is with Bios 12.07

    Doing it the wrong way

Perfect example that going up is not always the direction one should choose.

But for some time now been trying to get it to work.
My goal was 3.8ghz. At some point i did a cross flash as i call it to the RAMPAGE bios. 8202

It proven to be one of the best things ever. No i have not reach my goal but now days what ever i put on it it will boot.

Any way. been surfing alot to get some more info. This QX6700 is not so commons and by now almost no one using it.
In search of the sunrise has to redo bios settings and from what you can see from previous posts they where high.
So far i have managed to take them down a bit.

One thing i can tell you for sure is that 8x450 fsb needs that 1.50V FSB Termination Voltage. (have tryied almost anything and i found countless ways NOT to do it that way).
So 1.50V FSB and 1.53V NorthBridge works for me.

Also notice that the CPU Voltage is now down to 1.46875V / 1.54V CPU PLL

Iam quite sure that there is room from improvment.
One thing i did notice is that taking the CPU voltage 1 click down, I had to take the PLL 1 click down as well. If not, Prime failed on around the 7 or 8th loop.

Also when prime fails going up one click in voltage Do Not always work.
Will not argue that , just an observation. Be flexible! and take your time. It does take time this OC business.

I only care about 24/7 clocks with low / safe volts, so I don't have a max cpu clock screenshot.
I am aircooled, and this is what I use for 24/7 with QX6700 and Maximus II Formula.
All the voltages and temps are there on the pics.

    500FSB (3.5GHz) DDR2-1000 5-5-5-18-2T - 7h prime + 20 IBT loops (full loaded temps showed by everest)

    494FSB (3.46GHz) DDR2-1186 5-5-5-18-2T - 4h prime + 10 IBT loops (idle temps showed by everest)

FSB to 345 or 380mhz, and multiplier to 11 or 10x fails BSOD v up 1.6v

    testing prime
NB GTL x.67- CPU GTL x.63 - 1.50v ok custom
NB GTL x.67- CPU GTL x.65 - 1.50v fails custom
NB GTL x.67- CPU GTL x.63 - 1.52v fails custom small FFT
NB GTL x.67- CPU GTL x.65 - 1.52v fails custom
NB GTL x.67- CPU GTL x.65 - 1.55v ok custom
NB GTL x.67- CPU GTL x.65 - 1.48v ok custom
NB GTL x.67- CPU GTL x.63 - 1.46v ok custom
NB GTL x.67- CPU GTL x.63 - 1.44v fails small FTT
NB GTL x.63- CPU GTL x.65 - 1.46v fails small FTT
NB GTL x.63- CPU GTL x.65 - 1.50v fails small FTT around 12th cycle
NB GTL x.67- CPU GTL x.65 - 1.50v fails small FTT with +1Cpu & pll Vtls
    customīmode works much better ???

    Passed Small FFT
NB GTL x.67- CPU GTL x.63 - 1.52v . CPU 1.46875v CPU PLL 1.56v NB 1.55v meaning i had to go +1 click on the vlts
