Hi here is a little guide to repair a dead Laing DDC pump.
My pump started to behave weird some time ago, it would not start and when it started it was noisy.
Read some posts, on Xtremesystems about the fault, and found out that the fault was comming, from a overheated chip, on the internal print in the pump.
I took it apart, and yes my pump had the same fault.
Then i tryied, to find out of what chip it was, but with no luck because, the chip was grinded flat, on the top so the text was gone.
then i contacted, Laing offices around the world ,and the only office that replied my mail, was Laing from hungary, and they send me 3 chips for free!!!!
Great service, it took 3 days for the letter to arrive by air mail.
And now for some pics of the repair.

    Riska,
Very useful post and pix, thank you. I have never stripped a DDC down to just the pcb, but have been told it's difficult to separate pcb from winding.
For the amateurs amongst us, could you please describe how you did this without damaging the thin wires involved?
Your pictures are very helpful but perhaps some more step by step explanation of the strip down and rebuild.

Have these chip numbers helped find them in any catalogue?

Just take one wire at a time and unsolder it.
At first it did not. but then i changed the chip again and turned it 180Degrees there is not any markings to where leg number 1 is so after a turn it works like a charm

Your 8th picture, third last in the second post of pix, shows the lettering on the new chip in position.
Do you remember if this pic is from before or after you rotated the chip to it's correct position?

The 4 legs out wards to the edge of the print i connected all together it is 1 printlane
If u look at pic 7 from bottom and up u can se the printlane.

I am testing the pump now the chips burned because the pump got to hot and i think the new chips are ifferent than the old ones because the pump dosent get as hot as before.

Thanks. I hope to never need it but like the idea of attempting a repair instead of automatically binning it.
