E2140 meets LN2 and results in a 151.51% OC (WR)

At the weekend, there was the first Awardfabrik OC- and LAN-party in Germany, called AOCM. We had much fun benching with LN2 and dry ice. Many thanks to company Broser for the spontanious decision to sponsor the lquid nitrogen and many thanks to the perfect organisation of this event.

I was a little late, so I only benched a single CPU and that one CPU-Z only. The E2140 I used was able to run a 456 MHz FSB with a crappy aircooler and just 1.4V. With very good watercooling and 1.6V the FSb did not improve. I was pleasantly surprised to boot with 480 MHz and hit 503 MHz using Easy Tune 5. Thanks to SoF for lending me his mainboard
The board I used first didnt clock too well with the E2140.

For now, I can only show a CPU-Z validation, pics of the unspectacular setup will be posted most likely tomorrow.

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=248702

Edit: I only needed 1.6V to hit 503 MHz FSb. Too bad I did not do any more stability testing. I tried up to 2V, but it did not improve the max FSB at all.

That is insane that your were able to get the FSB that high on that chip.

    Very nice clocks!

I hope you have a lot of fun at the AOCM. I'm sad that i have no time to be there... but hopefully at the second AOCM

Yes AOCM was very funny. Too bad I was only there yesterday, but it was well worth it. You should try to make it next year.

    Thanks guys

Was quite an effort to get there

I did not find a higher clockspeed of a E2140. wedfighter had 500.04 MHz FSB, so am I holding the CPU-Z-WR in the E2140 class right now?

    I think so. I don't know a higher clock with the E2140

    Congrats!

Too bad that those CPUs have a hard FSB wall. 1.6V for 503 MHz FSB is so nice. I wonder what that CPU could do without the wall with 2V.

A picture of the setup is attached.

    More pictures are here:

I will try the CPU on single stage soon to test what it can do stable.

I can tell you that as soon as I get the pictures from yesterdays event. I let someone take a picture, before I lapped the IHS.

Thanks Mark , ming@s and wedfighter

It's a shame more voltage didnt help. 503 is the absolute limit for me on that board. I will do some test with other mainboards and the single stage. Maybe a crazy PLL voltage, which is not available on the Gigabyte board, will help to reach a little higher FSB.

I was thinking about getting the DFI P35, but I wont be able to for wuite some time. Too bad that board aint cheaper :/

I was in a hurry when I swapped the mainboards and the temp probe slipped out. I dont think my CPU was much colder than -80C, so with a different board and more voltage, there might be room for improvement, but the FSB walls on those chips are crazy. Do you know if a BSEL mod helps? Booting at 333 FSB default might help, but I am not sure.
