    Anand on AMD

"AMD's Barcelona: Why we haven't published benchmarks"

    http://www.anandtech.com/tradeshows/...spx?i=3006&p=1

"In the end, performance was absolutely terrible. We're beginning to understand why AMD didn't let us test Barcelona last month. It's not that AMD is waiting to surprise Intel; it's that the platform just isn't ready."

"Some expect to see two more revisions, while others expect a single rev after B01. If the next revision of the core yields high enough, AMD may do a "public" release in July at 1.6GHz - 1.8GHz just to get product out there."

"None of the partners we talked to are really impressed with Barcelona."

"Continuing on the worst case scenario track, some partners don't expect to see 2.3 - 2.4GHz until Q2 next year, and based on AMD's simulations the processor doesn't come "alive" until it hits the 2.6GHz mark."

"The biggest story in all of this is that AMD is just not ready yet, the chips are not scaling well, and today it's looking like Intel may eat their lunch this year."

I just quoted what I thought was important, what do you guys think about this?

just wondering:When AMD was on top of the market, was everybody also saying"bye bye Intel???"It's strange, that evryone expects to see AMD down?Believe me,THAT's the last you wanna see happening...

On topic:I do hope AMD can sort out the problems they have at the moment, cause this is again pretty bad news...

This is exactly what I thought was going on. Exactly what happened with the R600.

Still hope it is salvagable, but how long can you float on hopes and dreams??

Yes it seems Anand and Dailytech are out for AMD: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=146919

It's been discussed at length and I'm not a fan of recycled news.
