    qx6700 vs asus p5k deluxe = 480FSB

ive been testing the p5k deluxe board for a couple of days and i must say it's a superb board, kinda reminds me the good old DFI NF4 ultra days (except the voltages on bios, i hope asus makes another model of p35 for ocers, just like it did with p5b and commando)

the board is rock solid compared to my commando boards, i think it overclocks mems more than commando (i need to double check that) but the most impressive think is the max fsb i got with the qx6700

for comparison it's the same qx6700 that me hipro5 and gorillakos use.
initially when i first tested this CPU on the commando hipro5 told me that he couldn't clock more than 350-360FSB (in his boards)
i managed something like 410FSB which was really impressive...
then the p5k came in so i threw in the qx6700 and forgetting the fsb limit started raising clocks.

as you can see it managed 480mhz fully stable!

enjoy (don't mind the 3dmark scores, simply for stability)

P35 is really promising! now lets wait for 2900xt's

to asus for this great board!
if this is your first night in xtremesystems,
    you have to overclock.

don't know yet! i tested with a (crappy) 6420 which maxed out at 420mnhz
the quad could boot up to 510max but never made it into windows!

1.25 is the stock, 1.55Vchipset did nothing to max fsb but i need to check some new features this board has on voltages

    strap doesn't change at 400mhz unlike 965chipsets...

it's almost like a 975chipset that can get easily 500+ fsb! and clock mems as high as 965!
if this is your first night in xtremesystems,
    you have to overclock.

    glad to hear that
but i hear that P35 a bit slower in super pi compare to 965.... can you compare it with your 965 mobo?
    thanx...

    will try superpi shortly,
my initial results show that superpi performance is almost like 965, we might need to find what mem ratio is best for the board just like with 965

when you drop the multiplier to say x7 and you achive a fsb of 400,does it increase performance as to a multi of 13 and fsb 300?
i always wanted to understand that concept
    thanks

yup P5K Deluxe is very nice to my Q6600 as well 470FSB easy, and 480-485FSB with some CPU PLL /NB voltage

yeah i worked with abo-san to get the P5K working with setfsb .>> everything works properly and is lighter on the system than clockgen anyways

but we need memset now for SPI tweaking

yeap, setfsb works like a charm!, i only have a little problem with cpu-z as it reports mem speed and latencies not correct, im using 1.40 just like everyone else but ...

spi 3600 is slow for my taste because i cant use for the time being my best pair of mems! and im limited to 610mhz with 5-5-5-12
also without the memset there are still subtimings that you can change in BIOS although you can boot with the tightest timings BIOS allows without issues!

i DO have to mention again that this is the most SOLID 775 board ive tested so far and ive done to it so many bad things in terms of overclocking!
