This is the reason why I'm anxiously awaiting the 650i Abit version called FP-IN9. Sure it's got the Fatal1ty marketing but it's a simple and clean looking board that will likely have similar results as the Asus.

I'm still waiting for the USA release and when I get one I'll post a short review here.

Got my FP-IN9 yesterday, now just need some spare time to tear down my current rig & install the board. Hopefully it will be better than the Asus board.

Damn dude... the MSI P6N Plat is lookin so good right about now.. lol. I guess the 680i boards tend to offer much better voltage control for mem/cpus, as in, beefier PWMs and such.. but I guess that might not be worth 200 extra bucks.. some of those 650 boards are only like $125... great performance to price ratio.

I like the "hybrid" 650i of the Asus P5N32E-SLI Plus.
I find pointless to do SLI at 8x. I would pick the good intel boards over any true 650i out there.

Wait for R600, im sure the 975 will have a bit more life brought to it b4 bearlake replaces it. It is a shame that nvidia is too arrogant to release drivers for SLI on Intel based chipsets.

Good points, but I think AMD planned to release it along with the R600.
Pointless is a bit too much to say, but I dont find it an exciting chipset offering much more of the 965/975 currently.

i remember someone did a test of 2 sli'ed 8800gtx(s) and found that at the higher resolutions, the 16x link width starts to pull noticeably ahead of the 8x link width of the 650i.

Well I play at 1600x1200 and later this year at 1920x1600.

I'm waiting for the MSI* and DFI 680 boards because I need two pci-33 slots usable, when doing SLI. [* one with this cause it has x-fi on board]

for you that have 8800GTX in SLi dual X16 is needed but for me that play @ 1280x1024 dual x8 is enough!

I saw that too.
Most noticeable iirc was the difference in minimum fps (something like 300%).
