    Crysis most likely delayed, again!

According to designer Jack Mamais, Crysis will be in stores in summer or fall 07.
So it doesnt look like it will be out in April, as stated a while ago :/

    German source:
    http://www.gamestar.de/news/pc/spiel...54/crysis.html

There are still some multiplayer maps missing and they are currently in the quality test phase, so it doesnt look like it will be delayed again, hopefully.

Not enough hardware and not enough software so it is more likely to be delayed
May be the should have prepared DX9 version to be released earlier

For some reason I no longer care. I think if I drive myself to not really care, the time will go much faster without me being bummed out....

But it does run in DX9 mode, you think they'd get very far requiring DX10? That'd be ridiculous.

Well it is the first game to run DX10 they have no other game as a reference or any previous experience about how the software interact with hardware in DX10 so it needs lots of work and testing

First rule of games: be glad when they postphone the release. They just decided not to screw you and get your money for a half-baken non-experience.

after hearing how rushed neverwinter nights 2 was this doesn't bother me. What will bother me is if they release the game and it's incomplete.

I'm not happy it's delayed but if it means we get a better game at the end of it all that's for the best. And besides, I will have a better PC in September than I will in April, so I can enjoy Crysis with more eye-candy

Could the first delay have something to do with optimizing for the G80, and this new delay have to do with optimizing for the R600? Makes you wonder....

You shouldn't need to optimize on an unified architechture, there are some pretty specific rules from M$ how the hardware has to be... Still some room for development from the manufactures, but there are some rules in place to ensure optimal performance on DX10 on all apps and cards
I think it might be some extra work on their physics model... They might be improving it towards better support for Ageia...

i think major issue is multi threading .

    might be prime issue.

after all valve is straight ahead and too quiet from id software which is always spooky.

First rule of developing games - plan a release date you can hit!

Seriously. And by hit mean withing a few weeks, not a half of a year.

A few days before they said it will be delayed, I read someting that they are not happy with the graphics. They said the colors are too colorful and looks too much like a comic, so they did a lot work with the graphics.
That might be related to G80 or R600.

They should think about adding real martial arts for use in this game, or just for the heck of it. Muay Thai, Tae Kwon Do, all in FPS view

It may or may not after a few patches. Depending whether Aegia cards ever take off.
