You cannot tell from 2d pictures of course but the eyes have it in the third picture, excellent realism apart from the white highlight

This card seems to have incredibly good none angle dependent AF and good AA to boot.

And it is fast as f*ck

Nvidia have delivered in spades this time.

Celebrate good times, come on! (Let's celebrate)
Celebrate good times, come on! (Let's celebrate)

There's a party goin' on right here
A celebration to last throughout the years
So bring your good times, and your laughter too
We gonna celebrate your party with you

Come on now

It's time to come together
It's up to you, what's your pleasure
Everyone around the world
Come on!

We're gonna have a good time tonight
Let's celebrate, it's all right
We're gonna have a good time tonight
Let's celebrate, it's all right

Baby...

Yeah baby ...... .. not bad for a still independent company apart from the big boys

Face pics? I prefer other demonstrations of polygon rendering.

No comment here... i don't see the point...any video card can render that...the difference is only in the amount of time it takes to render it.

The hardware has no actual affect on what the rendered object looks like other than the time it takes to render it lol...

That's scary, and yeah I'm wondering what moving graphics this card is capable of when pushed to the limits, I hope it destroys what we see on xbox360 and even the PS3.

You miss the point completely perkham, yes any card can do that but when it comes to marketing and delivering in 3d they have to tie in what they wish and what the card can deliver. Of course the 2d shots will always be better but there has to be some correlation.

Lets see some old Ati and nvidia 2d shots so we can contrast and compare how good the 2d to 3d then was compared to this.

Go on, stick em up and lets judge, lets see Ruby in 2D on X1800, or Dawn on nvidia

Regards

Andy

Filmmakers have been using character modelling for almost a decade, andy...the G80 is a big leap in the direction towards more powerful 3d rendering but i fail to see how a single picture makes a difference.

If the G80 can render at that level of quality in real time (and i think they'll release that after launch)...thats the thread i'll be looking forward to

That's my point, they do 2d with what they can get away with regarding 3d and so it should be uniform from FX / R350 onwards so in this case are you not impressed with what they can get away with in in 2D this time ?

Or are you saying nvidia are taking it too extreme and making the gap bigger ?

Who knows, we will see.

My bad...all i'm concerned with is processing power...and in this case...polygon processing power Unfortunately one picture isn't a judge of that

What we require is a real time demo, a video

You dont even need a video card to render it, ok you need one to display it :P

I want to see more than just the face. The most important part with a lot of polygons is missing :/

I 2nd that notion, that would be a real test of GPU capabilities.

the only un releastic portion IMO is the eyelashes they dont have any reflection or color distortion due to ambient light otherwise at a glance that is some hella realistic rendering

wow, I think I'd hate to see a rendering of myself that looks better than the real thing.

She is definitely not as cute as this thread would have me believe.
