    Help E6600 says it's running at 1600 X 6

However occasionally it jumps up to 2.39 @ 9 multiplier.

Check sig for specs I am using the 0507 bios. I think there is an issue with CPUZ I am still able to run SuperPI to 1M in 21 seconds.

    What gives?

You just have to disable C1E and EIST in the bios.

Is it wise to leave C1E and EIST off at all times?

Time for you to spend some time getting to know your system and that is meant friendly not sarcastically..Run some apps, some games, monitor the system tems, get to know what it does under specific loads. if it gets too hot, maybe improve the cooling, or cut back the OC, find that "sweet spot" where it runs as high as it will but doesn't overheat..
Good Luck and congrats on your Ho!

It's almost midnight I spent all day driving all over Florida...I'm tired and just want some quick answers. It's been awhile since I've "tweaked" a system of this caliber.

I have never really posted here because I didn't have anything to say for the longest time, but it seems lately as if with the C2D launch a ton of noobs have come to the board (maybe I am one of them).

The majority of questions asked lately can be answered by either searching this forum, or simply doing a google search. These are not that complicated a questions.

This is supposed to be xtremesystems.org not answersmynoobquestionsaboutdefaultclockspeedsasap. org.

    Question about eist...

Does it just lower multi? Or does it touch the voltage as well?

If it changes the voltage as well, you'd have to play with vcore percentages (do intels have this?) over 100% to use so that your say 115% is equal to the voltage you want, so when it ramps up, it goes to the right, stable voltage. Of course that doesn't matter if Intels don't change the vcore...

What is annoying is people that haven't got an ounce of patience with others that may lack their experience and knowledge level.
EVERYONE is a n00b sometime. We all learn and this forum is FULL of people asking questions and looking for advice. It's the sharing of that advice between us all that makes this such an excellent place and todays "n00b" will be here in 5 years helping others if we don't drive him away.
Yes, his questions were asked before.Yes, He could have used the search and probaly found the answers in 2 minutes.
I agree with all that. What I disagree with is the part of your statement that I highlighted. We've all asked questions on many subjects. Nobody knows it all, not me for damn sure and I doubt you do either so we ask..
A little patience, or maybe dig out the link and post that for the guy..
This isn't aimed at you specifically, I could just see it building up..

Keep C1E and EIST on. The only thing they can fuss up is short benchmarks. But when on it can save you alot of power and heat on a normal day. So keep it enabled unless you try to make some record benchmark.

I disagree this statement for the reason that this is a forum and questions when asked have to be answeared, but it depends of each person. There are many sections here and this section is Intel section, so everything about Intel hardware are welcome to us. I agree is wrong when people ask something that does not belong to this section.

The people have to understand the most we help, more are the chances of getting satisfactory replies, keep that in mind.

When I help somebody I feel really good. I hope others may feel the same.

Just a thought for the mods/admins, but I think you should be required to READ all of the forum rules and take a quiz on them before you can activate your XS account.

And if you haven't learned how to use the search function yet, you shouldn't be on the internet, much less a computer forum.

I agree the search buttom is your best friend. First try to find what you want, if the question has not found then ask to us, it will be a good way.

    Repetitive threads are really annoying.
