Hi
Revage, a member of XS.org forum has ordered a phase-change unit from me. Generally, He wants a value unit. There have been some propositions, first that was planned as a unit build on wooded board, but finally we deciced to build unit in metal case, use mine older evap, mine small, custom condensor and a compressor from Vapochill LS, so good-know Danfoss FR 8.5 CL. As a bonus, I've add a blue cold-cathode and green fan
. Unit is charged with pure R507, it's unit tunned for heavy load, with 27*c ambient it has done -48*C unloaded, and it's able to hold 215 W heatload from resistors (dummyload) with -24*C
.
Full specs :
Compressor: Danfoss FR 8.5CL (taken from Vapochill LS)
Evap: chilly1 clone, made in Poland, with black enclosure
XV: captube 0.8 mm, 270 cm
Condensor: custom made 165 x 140 x 60 mm , alu-cu, 0.312 kW, + SUNON 120 mm/38 mm fan (12 V power supply)
Refrigerant : R507
Case : Custom, metal case 49 x 21 x 23 cm, painted on glossy black
Others: Desuperheater, Tt Thunderblade green on the back of case, blue CCFL inside case
That's empty case (sorry for bad pic).
Tunning with 215 W dummyload.
Completed.
In 30*C room, it has done -38*C idle and -34*c stress with 3103 Mhz/1.78v A64 Venice.
Now, unit is in it's owner home, Revage has PM'ed me and said it's making -40*C evap loaded with Dothan M780 .
I hope Revage will be happy, with his new cooler.
Regards
Peter
