    Cool FX-60 0536RPMW meets Kayl Black Frozen SS

    My FX-60 was getting jealous that my FX-57 http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=101960 was hogging all the time with my new phase change unit, so thought i'd let them hook up

    Kayl Black Frozen SS
    1/4HP 8cc compressor 404a
    Kayl rev3 evap block

    Specially tuned by Kayl for not so cold temps to avoid cold bug, but to handle high heat loads

    Just plucked in my retail box FX-60 CCB2E 0536RPMW with low 2 digit 00xx serial number that i bought off k00lance around 3 months ago (thanks mate)

    First clock on cpu and running 32M @3417mhz at 1.552v hehe

    @stock 2600mhz first

    haven't tested cold bug yet as at 17x200HTT = 3416Mhz for now hehe gotten find a base clock first

    17x200HTT = 3416Mhz at 1.552v

    Thanks guys.. yeah 256MB BFG 7800GTX stock hsf air would be limited in clocks... but for 7800GTX is pretty good clocks for stock air

    Seems i might be suffering the cold bug symptom of low HTT with my FX-60 even at 15x233HTT or 14x244HTT with 1.552v or even 1.632v vcore bios only shows -10C and windows shows -16C to -18C idle and -3C to +2C load. But evap temp shows -33C load temps the highest load temps i had on all cpus tested so far. But seems it's the lowest windows load temps so far too... ????

    I'm running 15x233HTT with toast app in start up menu to boot up and run toast while i setup Super Pi v1.50 for a run, now running 32M single instance at 15x233HTT at 1.632v and 32M is nearly complete! so 3495Mhz at 1.632v at least is capable of 32M under load...

    Probably means i have more room to overclock if 3495Mhz is benchable ?

    Dam you cold bug! Starting with low HTT for now to see how high cpu goes

    16x217HTT = 3473Mhz at 1.632v

    FX-60 manage to validate pretty easy @16x220HTT = 3520Mhz at 1.648v

    Single 32M @16x219HTT = 3504Mhz at 1.648v

    Guys which bios later than 1114-3 bios has FX-60 support and the upclock 216/233/250 dividers ?

    edit:

    I just switched my Bios savior to original bios and flashed the bios on DFI NF4 UT SLI-R R.AB0 to 406BTA bios which has upclock 233/250 dividers to work around cold bugged HTT.

    So bios savior
    RD1 back up bios = flashed to 1114-3
    Original bios = 406BTA

    A checksum is unique for each particular time that results from a finished run

    thanks for putting this on for me, as i now know where my chip stands, on good water, ie 22c idle temps i can get 3.15ghz bench and 3.27 suicide side, both at 1.55v and was thinking of getting phase, when ive saved up i think i will

    Nice FX60 there eva2000

    Yust hooked up my FX60 , CCB2E , 0536WPMW.
    Cooling is modded Mach2 r507 by Overklokk.
    On DFI NF4 Ultra-d , with OCZ 600W and 2x1024mb Corsair XMS.

    Time sucks , yust checked fore 32M stability, will work on the time later.

    thanks guys... nice clock Fosco need to work on those times though

    Question why is the cold bug only freeze in windows and not memtest ???? I can memtest my FX-60 fine at 12x250mhz 2-2-2-5 fine without freezing or errors but windows will freeze ?

    Is it cause in windows idle.. the cpu temps can be alot lower than in memtest ?

    seems the extent of the cold bug on FX-60 for me is

    - can boot into windows upto 233HTT so far and if i keep windows under load can bench at 233HTT
    - tried 244HTT and can boot as far as windows welcome screen then freezes there
    - as far i have tested 220HTT is where i'm okay so with 406BTA bios i have access to 216/250 dividers at certain cpu multipliers and know at 15x cpu multiplier so far i have access to 216/233/250 uplock multipliers so can ram up my memory clocks keeping HTT low.

    Testing the upclocks now in memtest @15x220HTT with 233 divider... memtest says 220mhz mem but guess it doesn't show mem's upclock ram speed until i get into windows. I estimate i'm at 256mhz 2-2-2-5 since memtest reports 2930MB/s bandwidth and for dual core cpu it reports lower bandwidth than single core san diegos and venices so probably about right.

    Strange with DFI NF4 UT SLI-DR R.AB0 and 406BTA bios at cpu multiplier 14x i only get to choose 216 and 250 dividers, at 15x can choose 216, 233 and 250 ?

    edit: Okay after flashing to 406BTA bios i managed to get upclock dividers in play. The difference in super pi times is very noticeable i.e.

    Super Pi v1.50

    FX-60

    3416Mhz (17x200HTT)
    DDR400 divider

    200mhz 2-2-2-5 memory = 22min 36.343s

    vs

    3300Mhz (15x220HTT)
    DDR466 upclock divider

    253mhz 2-2-2-5 memory = 22min 20.703s

    Okay Sandra 2007 Lite must have a bug as it must think my FX-60 @15x220HTT DDR466 upclock with mem @253mhz 2-2-2-5 is an intel DDR2 system as it's reporting crazy buffered and unbuffered bandwith over 11k and 4k respectively! LOL

    Buffered

    Unbuffered

    Strange single 32M can reach 3504Mhz at 1.648v, but dual 32M i had to drop vcore down to 1.62v to do 3424Mhz so far probably dual 32M's extra under load heat ? how's dual 32M around 22min 29s sound

    @16x214HTT = 3424Mhz
    DDR466 upclock
    2x 512MB OCZ PC3200 Gold UTT BH-5 @244mhz 2-2-2-5 at 3.48v

    Shaved up to 16s off the dual 32M time

    @16x216HTT = 3456Mhz

    Yeah coldbug aside seems this cpu is a solid clocker hehe

    Next up is PCmark05. Managed to pull off my personal best score although it seems like only a minor improvement with my FX-60 @3407mhz vs @3113mhz.

    New Pcmark05 = 8,650
    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?pcm05=388590

    Old Pcmark05 = 8,383
    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?pcm05=309796

    Click on image below to see larger screenie for compare between 8650 vs 8383 Pcmark05 scores

    Probably get a much higher score with ATI X1900 CF setup hehe.

    6 min stressprime dual instances load test
    Room temp = 24.5C
    Compressor temp = 45.3C
    Evap idle = -41.2C
    Evap load = -31.0C

    MBM5 idle = -20C
    MBM5 load = +6C for first 5 mins and 6th minute hit +7C

    Broke my Aquamark3 PB by over 4k as well

    2x 256MB BFG 7800GTX stock hsf SLI @493(541)/1377

    AM3 = 136,799

    Nice to see that a B2 mem controller can do something. I've been told it totally sucks. I have one and i am awaiting some phase cooling. Good work.

    I'm not familiar with upclocking honestly. I noticed it was in my bios but never thought of using it. So.. basically what it does is bump up your ram while you keep the FSB clock at something stable? Is it possible that i could do this with water cooling and achieve a faster system at a lower/ more stable FSB?

    nah on air/water you should be fine 1:1 or down clock dividers... but yes upclock allows higher oc on ram than fsb

    probably if you had a cpu multiplier locked cpu it would be more useful on air/water... but with unlocked multiplier on FX-60 only time to really use upclock is when you are on sub zero cpu cooling and have a cold bug limiting HTT clocks
