Theorw, OK sry, I read wrong
Vmods - what can possibly go wrong? ©
well i resoldered the VR and i tried some OCing today. What i found out is that with the VR configuring the volts, the voltage is extremely stable like 0.002 change during gameplay...
I managed to have 1000core on 1,298-1,301 volts while on softmod i set 1,264 but it was actually more that 1,31...measured with DMM.
So when u say i have 1000core with 1,2volts its more like 1,25...
The most important think i found is that after some voltage,i dunno what exactly yet the card wont post!!!I mean i left the VR set to some middle resistance and the card wouldnt boot but after i set it a bit higher it booted no problem.
Do u think there might be some OVP the chip does?????It was higher than 1,33 i think...

tweaked my windows 7, but still getting like 1/2 fps less on GT3 then xp, same clocks.
really odd... ill try some other drivers aswell
Well i cant seem to pass any 3dmark @1040 with the asus bios.I hardmodded and i have ultra stable 1,349-1,352volts core but i cant pass 1040.
This is strange though cos i posted on hwbot 27k on 3d05 @1040 with the stock bios but cant find it now...
I might have the crapiest 5770 for OC...
Whta brand is your 5770?can u post your bios please?
I can run mine @1400 without problems stable but i have heatsinks on the back side and a 230mm side intake!!!
u guys dont cool your chips???
I saw in a russian review that mem chips get 90 degrees on stock!!!

Well your scores are OK!
Its your CPU that needs the boost!U need at least 0,5 GHz more to have bigger scores...
I have 4,5ghz and i get 58k so that our difference...@1000mhz core but 40mhz dont give 6k more...

its not the rig in my sig.
i'm running a E5200 @ 4.1, ddr2 around 700mhz with loose timings.
really need to get a new setup, this sucks.
Has anyone tried 6ghz mem ? i read some reviewer managed to get it up to 6 but they didn't say anything about bench stable.

Adding extra capacitors is for lowering ESR (series resistance). More caps > more energy stored > more current ripple can be filtered. If you add caps with long wires, + thin wires => you will add MORE parasitic resistance and noise to power planes, that without caps. It's totally stupid idea, to use that long wires from you first pic, sorry
