have you tried this board with ocz 4000 gold bigtoe? that ram worked really well with the lanparty nf2 b. Have you used any ram this board doesn't like?

The 4000+ modules I have all did well but didn't shine as well as the EB.I would say for an easy overclock the 3700rev3 will be an awsome buy, for those looking for wonderclocks you need EB and a few volts

I hope you're not being restricted by the NDA (if any) and are allowed to answer this ;-)

Four SATA? Huh? I've only seen manufacturers get two ports from the nVidia nForce3. What chip does the SATA? Is it the southbridge of the nForce, a Promise chip, or is it a SiliconImage 3112/3114? Or maybe a mix of both?

The sound. Is that stock nForce sound, using the Realtek "bridge" chip (in fact, AFAIK, the chip itself does very little)? If so, we're in luck. nVidia's onboard sound chip (in combination with the Realtek) just happens to be 100% compatible with intel-8x0 sound ;-)

What's the deal with living in Manchester and California? Heh, if you ever make a stop in Antwerp, I'll put Gentoo Linux on it and show you what that baby can really do

Also, would you be a really, really, really nice person and ask DFI if you can make more pictures of this thing? I'll even host the webspace. Any ideas if the great BIOS is being kept? I hope so. I don't want to be stuck with an old buggy BIOS but want to keep it anyway because of the great OC'ing options.

EDIT: And it runs with the OCZ booster? Great!

Just one more question though. I assume it can set the mutliplier, but does this override the multiplier on multi-locked processors such as the Athlon64?

Well I was in Belgium a few weeks ago at the OCC Lanparty so you could have seen me there.

I can't take pics of the board as its Beta and they requested I didn't.

If they remove options from bios I will leak this beta to the net...DFI know this but obviously will not support boards flashed with this bios.I really do feel though I won't have to do this..I told them what they need to do and I have a feeling they really listened..

Regards Manchester and Cali, im here for 10weeks in Cali then I go back to manchester UK..I just wanted to let people know where I was as I get heaps of PM's and there will be a delay as im in different time zones to normal.

The other questions I will check on the board later for you...

    Aww

Well, if you're ever in Belgium again and need a place to stay (I'm talking to the DFI board here ;-)) I'm right here!

    No DDR600 at all. At 333MHz*6=2000MHz, possible RAM clocks are 333MHz (CPU/6) or 286MHz (CPU/7). So-called "5/6-divider" would give you 250MHz (CPU/8).

But a very nice board, indeed!

Hmm didnt he say the 10/9 divider that would make it
    (333/10)*9=299.7mhz htt aka ddr600

Yes he did, but that´s not the way to calculate memory-clocks for an A64.

Memory-clocks are the result of the core-clock and an integer divider.

Running 333x6 means CPU/6 for 1:1...and guess what the next divider will be, when there are only integer ones?

Going by the next usefull divider that theory is correct.Only issue is going by bandwidth results i was doing a lot better than 1:1 at 285 or so...

    Unbuffered at 285 1:1 was 2450 or so...Unbuffered at 333 9/10 was 2600+ Unbuffered which is more like ddr600 than ddr570.

    draw your own conclusions.

My conclusion is, that this is a very good board paired with very good memory.

But when I have a look at AMDs datasheets (table for available memoryclocks), my next conclusion is, that it´s technically impossible to have other dividers than the integer ones, because AMD didn´t want to have asynchronous memory-clocks, accepting the drawback of slightly lower memory-clocks sometimes.

So as well as the so called "5/6"-divider is not always a real 5/6-divider (e.g. FX-53 is running at 160MHz memory-speed when set to DDR333 or "5/6"), the "9/10"-divider on the DFI-board is just the name for an integer divider between the one for DDR400 and the one for DDR333. Could be a real 9/10 (e.g. CH3400+), but not always.

Why your "9/10" results @333 are better than the 1:1-results at 285MHz is a good question...did you run it at 285x7 to get same core clocks?

I'm going for the MSI and then when the DFI is out maybe I'll switch.

I've already been waiting nearly a month.

    Bye DFI for now.

bigtoe, do the new dfi boards feature any kinda of dual-bios feature (I remember reading somewhere ages ago you were gonna recommend them to), and if not do you think they'd be interested in implementing it if you were to recommend it now?
