Wow! Excellent score Macci! Any info on what the clocks were at the time? What rendering mode? I'm assuming there's still more left in the tank, especially if 5.6s weren't used.

Also, my guess was only 100 points off (but the approximation I used to get it was only 2!).

You are not the only one - not to put down macci at the least - absolutely an amazing score and great effort! - but I have a feeling he was there more to authenticate the bench scores than anything else. DOubt that a bunch of ATI engineers couldn't have done the same...

Sure it was tons of fun for him and a great experience!

is that the 904 core run? how is one card doing? at the limits? so many questions

Troman, you should know that OCing does not cause linear performance increases.

even if it did, the first really xtreme attemps in the first few days after the technology is released are not going to give the best results, give it a few weeks, and a few other intense tries, 16K will fall with current generation hardware.

Actually no cards nor boards were cherry picked. Anyone can get the same numbers, they just need to know how. We only had a couple of boards and they all did pretty much the same.

A true cherry picked board could probably approach 1 GHz.

You guys have obviously not tried. Once you try it and beat his score, then you can tell us all how easy it is. I have stood and watched him work for a few days now and the man knows his trade.

If taking out the competition by ~1000 points at this early stage is not impressive then I don't know what is. Especially since when you look at the screen during a 15000+ run, you can actually see the image properly, not like some other runs

where you're struggling to figure out what you're looking at.

i thought it could be higher, maybe 17xxx or 18xxx maybe was to much, but now its like someone above said, beating nvidia for half an inch, but remember that is an early score and sli score improoved a lot with newer drivers. maybe 17xxx could be done in a few months.

anyone has the link to futuremark??

Yes you're right better drivers will mean better scores...though i doubt they can publish to Futuremark with Crossfire...I just checked and it isnt there. Cmon Man...Where are the 01 WRs Macci

Though take a break or two after that 15k

god, that's higher than my 3dmark 03 score, and i thought that was heavily overclocked. Didn't he do this last year as well? Head to ATI hq with the x800 xt pe, and get it to 700mhz core, and get (i think) 8400 3dmark 05 or something? Played on the 15k, this'll be the stuff of legends. Will there be an in-depth article about it at all? The mods, the cooling, stuff that went wrong(if anything)/right?

I was @R420 launch in Barcelona last spring (almost exactly a year ago).
The Funny thing is that back then the result (in Mark03) was almost the same
