okay so, is there any type of changelog on these BIOS releases? I mean, from F4 to F5, and then what is the differences in F6a?

It's hard for me to notice anything that is different unless it's spelled out for me. Would be nice to know....

Has anyone using the DS3 F6a beta bios noticed if Easytune now shows a different temp reading?

99.9% of the rebooting issue caused by these baords is caused by two things.

not enough vcore or too tight of timings on the ram.

you also need to start nailing the insert and delete keys when it goes into the reboot sequence.
this will force it back to defualts to get you into the bios.
its supposed to only be the insert key but it doesnt always work many times i have to do it 5 or 6 times ot get it to work but its easier then opening the case and going in and resetting the cmos.. lol sometimes.
The strange thing in my case is that it keeps in fuc**ng up this way frome time to time undepending if vCore which i now have at (Real) 1,440 volt and the memory is at 4-4-3-10 @ 400 that is the original rating and I tried 4:5 and they do 490Mhz easy with the same timings. The stange part is that i tried to boot with 1,5vCore and 8x390 and then set the fsb up with easytune and then I ran Pi M1 @ 8x425

Tried the F5b bios and it is still the same sh]t.

Okay I have been reading this thread a lot recently, and I am beginning to get very annoyed! I can't get my board to post past 380Mhz with (G)MCH and FSB voltage +0.3 and PCIE voltage +0.1... and even now I'm getting memory fails in orthos. CPU is currently at 1.5V not sure of real voltage :S, and you're using stock voltages?!

weird stuff: F3 bios prime stable but higher not?

I upgraded to F4 and F5 (final versions) recently and my prime stability have been going down the toilet. I would get 4-6hrs stability max before prime fails. But I remember posting on hardforum about a 16 hrs stability. This was when I was using the f3 bios (or maybe f4e but not likely).

Anyway. So I downgraded back to f3 and now I'm priming at the exact settings as before but I am now over 16 hrs of prime without errors yet (knock on wood). I think the old f3 has better hidden ram timings or something.

If you guys are having trouble with prime stability try going back to f3.

I just found that the Componets around the Socket get way to Hot. I am Sure this has hindered Overclocking.

I Do not remember CPU Power componets getting this hot on newer boards.I used to Sink all the Fet's on earlyer boards but I stoped doing it recently noticeing that there was not any Heat Issues.

This seems to be different on the DQ6. At defaults with a 80MM fan for cooling the componets get well above 50C. Overclocked and Vcore set to 1.45 I taped a thermal probe onto one it peged my reader @ 65C inabout 45 Secs.

Just tried bios F5C in my DQ6, previously had F4D.
In back to back tests I lost about 5 fsb, and I ran repeated tests to make sure
the results weren't random. Strange thing is, the newer bios had slightly
better performance in prime95 clock for clock. Scratching my head over this one.

well dont forget guy that its a beta bios so gigabyte is going to be testing different settings in the chipset and other bios tweaks to find the best of everything.
you are testing 2 beta bios's.. test two final retail bios.. or 1 old final bios and a new beta.
so you can see the difference between the two.

Today I mounted watercooling to the cpu and all previous problems with stability (Orthos) @ 8x390 and above seems to be gone. With air cooling it ran for 20-40minutes @ 8x390 and about 5minutes @ 8x400 and now I ran it for 3hours at 8x390 before i stoped it.

As bypolar says the heatpipe system gets so hot that you almost burn at it when the cpu fan dissaper, an extra fan to adjust or water cooling on NB seems crucial. I will mount a water block at the NB and a big Zalman sink on the SB tomorrow. If it is needed I will manufacture sinks for the mosfet´s.

EDIT: About the voltages discussed above, I have noticed that CPU-Z have shown just 1,215v instead of the actual voltage when you made adjustments with EasyTune5. So I bet those results is not with 1,213v at all. Just check my post above and compare EasyTune vCore with the one shown by CPU-Z

Very helpful and i just set the timings to 4-5-4-15 and i rebootet just fine at 400fsb, and well i just went on to hit the next step to get at 430fsb stable, im 15 mins prime stable just now, but damn im at loose looser 5-6-6-15 timings, 1,475Vc, +0,55 Vmch, +0550 Vdimm, and pci-e still at 100mhz...

Need some new mems, they aint helping me...

Bahh it failed prime after 30 mins, more testing then...
