Air resistance through a radiator is dependant entirely on surface area. Essentially what this means for the Admirals is that the monsta (with the most surface area per fan) is going to be best suited for high speed fans and the other thinner ones for low speed. This is of course unless they are varying the density of 'fins' on the tubes, but I have yet to hear mention of that.

Also unless they have managed to break the laws of physics the rate of heat transfer from radiator to air for a given surface area isn't going to be any different to current rads, meaning it's going to perform pretty much the same as traditional style radiators. However due to the large gap between the fan mounts and the actual core of the radiator there may be a performance increase since the extra space will essentially act as a shroud.

Skinnee, I like your pictures. It doesn't look as bad as I though. Do you have a pic of the little piece used to connect them?

And I disagree about the comment on German engineering being overly complex. Traditionally, I believe the opposite has been true (at least in my field of engineering).

In general yes, but there's more to the physics than just surface area. Who knows what they've done though.

Nope, they said not to bother since that piece was changing once they got back to Germany.

Indeed, things such as using different materials will change heat transfer rate, but I doubt we'll be seeing radiators made out of anything more conductive than copper, so there aren't really many improvements to be had that I can see.

Of course I could be wrong and feser could have pulled some witchcraft, but I'm pretty doubtful.

I hear accents, so they must be smart

So they're trying to implement a whole new standard with these radiators. Whether or not that happens, only time will tell.

I think there is something to be said here..........

I am not trying to start "admiral gate", but this radiator left the Golden Nugget with Skinnee and I to take home to test and leak pics etc.

The next day TFC came to my hotel room and asked me if they can borrow it for a video.

Now MY engineering sample is in Canada?

What the community here does not know is that TFC did not put the initial investment capital up to get to this point.

FrozenCPU put the money up to see this radiator develop. A lot of money, up front, 8 months ago.

So, I ask the community at this point......... where are these radiators and why did my engineering sample go to Canada and not home with Skinnee or myself?

Must be something pretty epic for this to be FrozenCPU's first post.

Mark, is that you? Good to see you here man and sorry to hear about this. . .just one more thing to add to my list.

Also had a thought about the 3.5M comment from Mario while at work. Does anyone else have a problem with the math?

    Thanks.......

FrozenCPU is absolutely in disbelief that our engineering sample that we left the Golden Nugget with was not returned as promised by Martin from TFC as he sat on my bed in my hotel room at CES and promised to return it after an "interview".

How is our sample with Dazmode in Canada? We support Dazmode, we love him, ( Mr. Bean ) . This is not about Dazmode, this is about Martin and Mario from TFC making yet another egregious business error. (Besides mine, back in Sept)

FrozenCPU put up 40k euro to develop the admiral last Sept. It is bad enough that after a plethora of failed promises from TFC to have product month after month we are insulted in the following manner....

1)to be presented with an engineering sample on one evening and in the morning ask for it back for a promotional video promising to return it in 1 hour.

    2) Not retuning it. Incessantly calling my cell phone demanding my presence at the XS party because you felt uncomfortable there.

    3) Letting the one sample leave your hands to someone else that has far less of a financial stake in the launch, procurement and success of this product.

    4) Threatening FrozenCPU.com to either file and hold the Admiral patent in the United Stated or not get reimbursed for initial investment of 40k Euro.

I have more.......... but this will get us started.....

All in all, Feser just made one sample of the radiator and travels with it round the globe showing everyone.
Remind me of a young kid who just got his first A at school and want everybody to know it.

imho, a single product sample for a company being "in biz for 20 years now" is... epic fail

dude he meant it as a total joke.

dont take it as an offense.

He had a total smirk on his face, and gave me a sucker punch as a notion of pun when he said it.

He knows my stand on vendors, which is why they all called me a freak.

    LOL...

Seriously you guys.. half the things we read on the forum about them is off.
They are nice guys.. maybe there business style and practice is kinda off, but person wise, they were amiable.

Infact all the vendors i met that night were downright cool to hang out with.
Even eddy's business partner who we never hear about was totally fun to talk to.

You guys really need to attend the XS party to get a grasp at who these guys are.

    Hi Frozen,

Does that 40k include a batch of rads at the end of it or is it just the development costs??

Huh? What the heck is going on?

    Re: Mark

I just really wanted your interview for my YT channel at XS party as owner of The Largest Store in USA for PC Modding, so you was called like crazy.

As rad goes, I have no idea what was a logistical or organizational problem with getting rad back to Skinnee hands after my interview. At the very last moment it was either leaving parts behind in hotel room (due to lack of space) or putting cores in my suit case. Easy choice, eh?

BTW, regarding my stated disbelief in good price/performance of this non orthodox rad design posted in this thread long time ago - while 40K eur might sound a lot in our community (everything aside, hats off to FrozenCPU for wishing to spank with something revolutionary current LC world stagnating in slow micro-evolution and putting investments in it), i'm guessing that world wide miscellaneous rad manufacturers/cooling system designers invested millions during more then half a century (i'm widely guessing on how old common rad design might be) .. and at the end what the world came up with and sticked to? - common rad design. Few engineers in team against the world? It's hard to buy genius inventor story. It's very possible for new rads to have serious drawback at some area, if not performance, then price (=much lower margin of profit, if not selling at loss, for product to still be competitive to contemporary rads, made for cheap at chinese factories, but nevertheless - for cheap). I root for FrozenCPU efforts, but am cynicaly pragmatic SOB to hope for success/certain win.

    @ churchy:
If it has the best performance it will likely find buyers, though.

It's an interesting design being modular, but I am not sure how many case will be able to fit such a huge radiator. I am also concerned with the gasket and whether it will seal properly or not. As it has also been pointed out, as you add sections it does not look like it will be able to maintain the standard 15mm fan spacing that we have finally got everyone to adopt. And finally, I noticed that they stated you had to use certain ports in conjunction with each other in order for the water to flow properly and I can see this being an issue in some builds. I like the concept, but I am waiting to see what Skinnee has to say about it after testing to see if it is a viable product or not.
