    Welcome to XS! Could we possibly just post the answer to the Cold Boot problem here so people dont also have to search through pages and pages. This goes to some other major FAQ questions.

    3800+ does make sense as a 2GHz processor. If it's 1.8, it HAS to be 1MB L2 to keep up with the performance ratings.

    Think of it this way

    4200 = 512kb (2.2 GHz)
    A bump of 200 MHz makes it 2.4 GHz, and so it will be a 4600+. The PR # jumps by 400. Thus, each 200MHz increment on an X2 is 400 jump in PR.

    4200 = 512kb, but doubling of cache makes it 4400+. Doubling of cache makes PR jump by 200.

    3800+ is a drop of 400, thus from 4200. We conclude it must be a drop of 200 MHz. 4000+ is an increase of 200 from 3800+. Thus it must be a 1MB cache version (if the 4000+ does exist).

    QED.

    When does the new revision of the DFI SLI come out? The one that had the same layout as their crossire board, with more gfx slot spacing and with the fixed vdimm issue.

    And another little bump to the front.

    I've been looking for this thread for the last week and just stumbled upon it.

    Its bookmarked now, but perhaps someone else could benefit from it.
