    News:so The G71 Is 90nm After All???

    http://216.239.59.104/search?q=cache...1+NVidia&hl=en

Just a fair warning...The link may die anytime soon, as it's a cached link.

Guys, VRzone posted this, but NVidia made them pull it down... Thus here's the googled cached page...Gotta love google...

The secret weapon for NVIDIA against ATi's R520 is actually G71, the successor to the current G70. VR-Zone has learned that G71 is based on a finer 90nm process technology at TSMC like the R520. NVIDIA is likely to make a switch when the process technology is more mature like towards end of the year. No doubt, the core frequency can be clocked higher on finer process. However, we can't rule out the possibility of releasing 7800Ultra on the 90nm G71 core when R520 launched since volume production are not expected for such a high-end GPU. Of course it could be based on 110nm process initially as INQ has suggested. 32-pipes or not, it is still unknown.
Looks like we might see close to 800mhz clocks after all....

    LOL

well, that would explain 800Mhz core rumors.

btw, aren't they trying to stop google from cashing, since that's supposed to be "inellectual rights infringement" or whatever other crazy ideas they come up with...

    Nice find bro, GJ!

    edit: here's without the high-lighting
    http://216.239.59.104/search?q=cache...i%3D2445&hl=en

edit2: why do they keep posting these "news" (rather "rumors" or "speculations", although not necessarily unfounded, imo), if they know they're gonna have to withdraw them anyway? is this the reason, people posting images on forums, so the information still is out there?

Yes, they are attempting to stop google from doing that, and now we can see why...NVidia is gonna be pissed.

Either way, gotta earn my keep on the News Team here, and that's nigh impossible with so many members all beating me to the punch!

    I hope the "G71" is a 32 Pipe, 24 Rop, 12 Vertex, 777Mhz Beast.

Violated NDA or not, how can there be a law against discussing the matter if you haven't signed any NDA? I do see a potential problem with Google's cache and posting screenshots of it. However the very text itself couldn't be illegal to post?

Until nVidia contacts XS admins I don't think we shouldn't worry too much, let's just discuss these incredibly interesting news. Btw, did VR Zone break the NDA? Or who did?

There was no violation because we signed no nda regarding this, got this piece of info from other sources.
We took it down cos we didn't wanna put nv's local marketing guy in a spot.

I wonder if they just release an ultra now that still a 24pipe card that clocks like crazy and allows them to perfect the 90nm technology, then later drop the 32 pipe monster that forces ATI to go insane?

Does anyone realli know how many pipes the R520 has The latest from what I have read is its only a 16 pipe chap @ 600mhz ++ Dont tell me its so powerful that ATI had to disable another 8 pipes so as to not leave Nvdia in da dust.......... If this is the case, R580 might end up havin 24 pipes only and the reamaining 8 will be backup for an all out kamikaze if the need arises........

if its efficiency is high enough then 16 pipes would work fine.
