Isnt that 8-pin connector BTX style? I'm pretty sure any psu that will work with BTX will work with this mobo. And if we can still get 4v without using 5v rail, why does it matter?

Really looking forward to this, can't wait till ATi starts owning everybody again. CROSSFIRE!!!

Edit: nvm, I was right, the link above is the proper part.

Wow, power supplies are getting too confusing.

The 8pin EPS 12v has been used on ATX server mobos for a while now so you can always look for a server power supply. I know antec a line of them and that they're reliable but probably not so hot for xtreme usage. I've seen doa enermaxes but NEVER a doa antec, and I've seen hundereds.

955 mobos are requiring the 8pin plug too (at least intel and asus)so I guess it's time to upgrade that 350 sparkle.

Im betting they just used the exact same power layout. looks identical to the ati one, just swapped the nf4 chipset in instead of rd480.

Found out you can only adapt an existing 8 pin plug from the PS to a 4 pin square type. Not the other way around. Any PS without a 8 pin will need to be hard modded or replaced.

im falling behind on the info lately of whats going on with new bits, on the topic of the ATI chipset boards though: a few months back a red and white ATI board was posted on here and looked amazing with 3 waterblocks on it, was that board a taster or is it real and still going to be made?

a little off topic but meh

Yes, but according to Grayskull (in response to powering the Grouper) a good ATX12V 20-pin PSU should work with these Crossfire boards. But we are taling about DFI after all...

You must be referring to the Grouper (Sapphire's Crossfire board). As far as we know, yes it will be made. Hint: don't bother asking about the ETA.

more manufacturers need to copy Abit's clever heatpipe NB technology. Seems Asus is doing it too. Much better than a fan thats going to get clogged with dust and die.

Most PS's that are rated for Intel servers will have the 8 pin I think.
