    Thumbs up 4x512mb G.Skill TCCD @ 290mhz ! G.Skill is da Bomb !

Been playing around with 2gig G.Skill TCCD tonight and I'm pretty surprised at the results.

Had to disable Bank Interleave, of course running at 2T and the rest is in my sig (server)

My processor tops out right at 2.9ghz, so I didn't take the time to see if I could get the ram any higher than 290x10. I might if I have time tomorrow.

My PSU is struggling right now with 4x512, had the same problems last night with 4x UTT.

And here is a thread where I was playing around with G.Skill GHBH 4x512mb last night: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=66638

Edit: BTW I'm running things at 285x10 right now and a couple of the screen shots are from that. Also the pic of my rig is just to point out how strained my Enermax is ! lol

I'll have to try the PC Power & Cooling 510w SLI I have tomorrow

    Nice results indeed.

What seems curious is that my winchester can do the same when it was supposed not to. Guess I got lucky with my memory controller to balance with my modest cpu overclock.

Take a superpi 32M shot and post it in the TCCD overclock thread. The 4x512 solution is increasing in popularity and we can help with some info. I plan to do the same as soon as I get some time free.

I'm really happy that you got 4x512MB TCCD working, George! It seems to look very prmising
Now, listen to what amrgb says... Run some Spi32M and be my guest in TCCD thread. You'll the 1st one to post a result with 4 sticks

What's your max with bank interleave enabled?

I can do about 285-288 with BI enabled. Trying now to disable it to see if I can get something more. But disabling it gives a big penalty in the memtest bandwith (3100->2400).

EDIT: I can't see any difference disabling BI, besides the drop in performance.

EDIT2: try Tref=2336. For me its much better than 3072

I'll give bank interleave another try, I'll also try 2336

    Flashed to 623-3

Bank Interleave now works at 290mhz

I tried several different Tref, but 3072 seems to be the most stable

Nice results. I think I'll jump on the 4*512 bandwagon when AMD/Intel makes a cpu that can do that with dimm's 1t. Until then, I'll stay @ 230 2-2-2-5 for 1 gig.

Unless for benchmarking purposes, you will not notice the 2t loss of performance, since it's minute in real life applications.

You you want to benchmark... well, you don't need 2GB for that, and you can always remove 2 sticks to benchmark. Also, with 2 pairs, you can chose the best 2 to benchmark, which was what I did (DDR604 2.5-3-3-6 1T with one stick from each pair)

under superpi 32m....4x512MB 2T vs 2x512MB 1T I only lost about 40s, and Aquamark I only lost 1 FPS, only Sandra and Everest did I see a slightly bigger gap so it all depends what you want to do with you rig, if benching is all you do with it then I would stick with 2x512MB, but for everyday usage, graphic editing, and gaming...4x512MB rules!!

Major....very nice clock you got there with 4x512MB!! for higher clock...test the sticks individually first and put them in the slots as I suggested, then bump up your Tras to 7, Twr to 3, trtw to 4, idle cycle counter you can leave it at 16 clks, and for even more stability drop your read write bypass to 8x and bypass max to 4x. try utt 300 and see what happen

Now u guys are making me rethink this. U guys say there is like no loss in performance going from 1t to 2t? If thats true, I might just break down, save my money, and buy 4* Mushkin PC3500 or PC4000. I might have to think about this.

Major, I hope you don't mind I post here my results it 4x512 Gskill LE (if you do, please say so and I will delete it)

    Rig:
    - A64 3500 Winchester (CBBID 0451 EPMW) + XP120 + Delta 120mm 190CFM
    - DFI NF4 Ultra-D (Bios 510-2)
    - 4x512 GSkill 4400 LE (TCCD 440 chips)
    - CM Stacker (case temperature 30-31ÂșC)

    DDR 572 2.5-3-3-8 2T 2.9v Bank Interleave Enabled

DFI memory timings (from top to bottom):
    200-D-2.5-3-8-3-16-22-3-3-2-3-2046-1-E-A-0-7-2-9-F-7-256-E-16-7-D

Maybe another day I reach a little higher, but my winchester's ability to overclock is not as good as its memory controller and with the 9x multi it craps out at 2575 with 4 dimms (4 dimms put a great stress on the cpu).

    A little off-topic, my best with 2x512.

    DDR 604 2.5-3-3-6 1T 2.9v

DFI memory timings (from top to bottom):
    200-E-2.5-3-6-3-12-16-3-3-2-3-2336-1-E-A-0-7-2-9-F-6-256-E-16-7-D

Have fun. I'm tired or today and my finger's hurt. I've tried 16 out of the 24 possible combinations of 4 sticks in 4 slots (I've run each stick individually and ranked them, but the optimal placement on the slots do not follow the common tul of weakest stick near the cpu and strongest farther away). To change the 2 sticks below the XP120 is not an easy thing to do.

    OK somemore results from testing

    @Ben805

Tested each stick individually, here are the results:

    Stick A - LA ..... 12 errors
    Stick B - LA ..... 0 errors
    Stick C - LE ..... 900 errors
Stick D - LE ..... Thousands of errors

All tested at 320mhz, 2.6v in dimm 2 with same Tref and other settings I've been using.

I tested the sticks in the same order that I had them in the Dimms, working config based on my trial and error. As you can see Stick A and B were reversed based on your suggestion as were Stick C and D. I reversed them and started getting errors in Memtest. Apartently my Dimm 2 is the strongest Dimm.

    here is my current config:

    Dimm 1 - Stick A
    Dimm 2 - Stick B
    Dimm 3 - Stick D
    Dimm 4 - Stick C

I think the principal is correct about weak and strong Dimm's but there must be other variables that play a part too. I think it may be motherboard dependent as to which Dimm is the strongest or needs the strongest stick of ram. Regardless now that I have changed the config the ram has more headroom. I'm going to test somemore now.

Also After changing the arrangement I noticed that the best Dram drive strength changed to 1 instead of 2 that I had been using previously (could be that I'm using a different bios now too). That also resulted in a slight decrease in necessary Vdimm.

Other changes, I'm back on 623-2 and now using PCP&C 510w SLI
