Has anyone gotten the Week 18 chips?
I just got a:
LBBLE 0518DPAW chip was wondering how it stacks with other chips from that run. Waiting on new Power supply to come in :-P
I tested my 3200+ 0517BPEW with LOW Vcore, did'nt expect this![]()

- SuperPi1M : 21.484s with FX-57 / LN2 (Ilkkahy's brazed container)
The last one should be a good one I think.

quick tests of my 3000+ 0517DPMW with my vapochill and spi 1M at 3269MHz
around 25.5-25.6 unpatched
bad contact, I think to improve this frequency
and with my new dod it will be 100MHz+
I think spi 1M at 3385MHz and maybe a screenie at 3600MHz---> 100%
3.3GHz stable would be great
with an amd box it is prime stable at 2800MHz 1.48-1.49v ---> 53°C
I love XS

Some people said me that Venices running DAILY at a high frequency (2.7~2.8~2.9GHz+) can die, even when it's at default VCore. Is that true? I've got a $*(&(*)$)@&()$^)@$ Venice that needs 1.5v to 2.4GHz and so I want to sell it and buy another one good overclocker, and my goal would use 2.7~2.8GHz daily. Is this safe?
Thanks

yeah it's safe, the only things that will kill the CPU are high voltage and high temps. And CPU core crushed :POriginally Posted by higherøx

What would be a high temp? 60ºC+? 70ºC+?
thx

over 60C is high temp. 60s is bad... but i think it's safe. Over 70 is not safe, and i think 80s is the death zone... i don't have any experience with temps like that thoughOriginally Posted by higherøx

What would you consider safe voltage for a aircooled 3800 Venice? I've not yet been above 1.475v and was stable at 2.65ghz.Will 1.5v/1.525v give me a better chance of hitting 2.7v stable?
Cooler is a Arctic Freezer64.

For 24/7 on good aircooling i would not go above 1.65. Personally, i like to be safe with 24/7 speeds so i probably wouldn't like to go over 1.625. Don't be afraid to try out 1.5/1.525, that certainly won't hurt. The most you should ever use is 1.7 and that's for the famous "suicide screens" not for extended use.Originally Posted by 2||Para

Nice 1 i'll try giving it a tweak with clockgen and let you know what happens.

Ok it has hit its highest overclock but not yet tested it for stability.Although i could never get to this speed before.

Yes, you'll want to do a lot of testing there. I can hit 2.8 with stock volts but i am unable to stabilize 2.8 even with 1.575 volts.

Its nice to know the chip can hit 2.8 stable tested or not. Tomorrow i get my new psu and next on the list is a waterchill kit.
I'll try OCCT on it a bit later and see if i can beat previous clock. Thanks for taking the time help.

Hi having problems getting my 3200Venice 0517 stable
Bios 1.8
Using the 'Athlon64 Overclocking Optimizer' I have managed to get
CPU 2700MHz 1.5v prime stable 12hours (may get a bit more!)
Mem 270Htt 1T 2.5 4 3 7 2.9V memtest86 12hrs+
HT 1100
HTT 285
so stick it all together
CPU 2700 HT4 mem 1:1 and fails prime in less than a minute relaxed the mem timings upped the volts to 1.6Vcpu HTx2 same
the only thing i can get resonable stable is
CPU2500MHz
mem1:1 250Htt
HT4 0r 3
prime 4hrs and errors with Vcore 1.45 but drop the Vcore back down to STD volts and prime has been running about 10hrs- lower volts seem more stable but fails prime just as quick at higher speeds 2600MHz+
this mobo was stable with my 3500winnie at 2500 1:1 speeds
I do know there is a new bios due at the end off the month which should help but r others having the same problems overclocking with Venice cores
even had a multimeter on my PSU rails and all r witnin 5% at boot, startup load etc
Havnt tried the 'A64Tweaker' yet

I dont think Venice like Prime. Mine will randomly die @ 2hr, 6 hr or 8 hr in. Other times it dies @ 15 mins. But gaming, OCCT, Super PI are all fine.Originally Posted by Jomiy

@ houserat,
handpicking helps, but most of us either got lucky or had to go through a few chips.
I dont know if i'm lucky or not, 0515APAW is supposed to be a good stepping but i can't get past 2.75 stable to save my life so it's kind of annoying.
I'm thinking of going to handpick a few CPUs soon... is it true that all you can find these days are POS week 18s and 19s??

i just got my 3200 venice today. it's a box cpu and the code is LBBLE 0516DPHW. the max i can oc it to is 275x10. i was hoping for 2800 or 2900, but it reboots whenever i tried 280x10. i'm running on a dfi sli-d with an xp-120. i'm going to try burning in the cpu and see if i can push it a little more. i saw a few threads on this code with similar disappointing results. i wonder how those people, who are ocing to 2.8+ at default or slightly higher vcore, get their gems.
make sure HTT is set to 3 and use a divider on your memory, also try the 9x multiplier and pump the HTT up with a divider on.
also what voltage are you using??
