Well, R520's coming out in some five months or so and by then G80 (or whatever the codename is) will soon be out iirc, so we shouldn't really compare G70 to R520, rather 7800GTX should be compared to the present X850 XT PE, I believe.

Still, awesome results. Too bad they're coming from Fuad, ahem. Very well.

I'm not so sure. It would be nice if they could somehow pull double the performance of the previous gen with just 24 pipes, but it seems farfetched to me. Not that I'm one to talk. I only know about as much as the next guy about these upcoming cards and their advantages, but it just doesn't seem too plausible. With full 32 pipes enabled though, 10k in 3D05, or otherwise double the performance of the last gen would be well within the realm of possibility IMO.

Let us all cross our fingers and hope that only 24 pipes are being used......it would be so more fun and fulfilling to unlock the remaining 8 pipes after purchase...........

For 10k in 05, 16 Pipe 6800GTs in SLI can do that at 400 Core...which means 16x2x400 = 12,800 Theoretical Fill Rate...which 24 Pipes can match with a Core of a mere 534 Mhz. (24x533 = 12,816 Theoretical Fill Rate) . So yes, 24 Pipes should own sli quite easily...except when high resolution FSAA comes into play, that's when the 24 pipes will not be able to keep up with 2x X850XTPE/6800Ultra in performance.

Yeah, but when you get a 32 pipe card, or 2x 24 pipe cards, or 2x 32 pipe cards, then the future of hardware has finnally arrived.

Wats ur gut feeling bout the speculated 700mhz core speed of 'Fudo'. Since u said 534mhz @ 24 pipes is sufficient........wat havock would (if true) 700mhz reak and also the fairy-tale 32 pipes........

Yup...meh talk about a wmd exploding in your wallet...2xR520/G70 is gonna be one hell of a combo for a price you'd have to make a deal with Satan to pay for

ANyhoo, i have no hurry in seeing 64 Pipeline benchies (yes thats what I said, you're not seeing things...64 Pipes ) I think we should start thinking about 40k in 03 and 30k in 05...

With 700 Core and 24 Pipes, we'd be talking about the same performance as 2 6800GTs with 525 on the Core...so I'd reckon 12.5k-13k in 05 on air would be a good guess.
