I just got a wild idea! I dont know if this has been said before or if anyone cares lol but I think why not many people are receiving good 512 MB that are AA4t is that the chips are being used by OCZ! and this is why OCZ doesnt use 2x256 mb chips! and these Vx capable chips are being buried in cheap ram and rated 2.5...after all VX is rated 2.5 untill its given 3V and up right... just my 2 cents

lol all the IC's are 32mb, the 256 sticks are 32x8, and the 512's are 32x16.

the ic's are all exactly the same.

All sticks were TwinMOS 50D labeled (Winbond UTT chips) 2*512 Kits marketed by Twinmos as CL 2.5 (2.5-3-3-8 SPD) with PCB's labeled KO 6633.They were bought in B&M store in my country, Romania that is. Next week i'll try 2 more.

I'm pretty curious if the -44D IC's are any better.

Exactly my thought ... maybe the Brainpower PCB isnt that good when used with Winbond UTT chips ... that's maybe the reason Twinmoss hasnt implemented it in their design on the AA4T chips.

Brainpower is a good PCB design when used with Samsung TCCD but not with these chips maybe ...

However I could be totally wrong about this ....LOL

    pffffffff

what good is brainpower PCB if you don't have the chips for it?

I have 2 bars with Brainpower, but without the dotted, or AA4T chips and it's 50B instead of D.

Can anyone say what I can expect from these sticks? :s

I don't expect a lot of them right now but as they appear to be acapable of riunning 7-3-3-2.5 on 2.6 volts here they have outperformed my Apacer ont imings(but bandwith dropped with about 50MB( But i do have a gig of them (2x512) isntead of only 1x512Apacer ram)

Could they be capable of running a decent 420? :s

I hope so..... Then at least I'll get SOMETHING out of these sticks.... Dam I wanted those winbond chips.... But the problem is, no one in belgium appears to be selling speed premiums

Otherways I would've gotten speed premium off course

It's not that I think the BrainPower are bad... it's just that I dont think they are that great... max overclocks seem to be bout the same on either PCB varient.

    LOl

ok I got BP PCB for sure.

On the topside of my PCB there is something with a B6 something but the end is 808 so it matches the versions I've seen on other fora and here.

Supprisingly, the Twinmos isn't as bad as I thought.... It's running 410 with 7-3-3-2.5 and I haven't tested it further because if I don't give it enough volts or soemthing I have to reset bios and I don't feel in the mood for doing that

Maybe thats why M.tec overclocks like , because they use different PCB.
So whats the big difference between the Non Speed premium and the Speed premium ?
    The labels ?

    Who knows.

My RAm bars (non speed premium) with BP PCB's run 7-3-3-2.5 on 2.6VOLTs 203 MHZ ..... that beats my Apacer hands down which couldn't even run 7-3-3-2.5 on 200MHZ LOL

Could you guy's give me a quick test to see what these chips are worth? like if I cna set it to ...... at ... speed it should be relativly ok, meaning i'm not gonna reach 250MHZ or something but I'll still get a decent .... mhz or something :p

    BTW

You know those side"marks" on the winbonds?

I have those 2x2 little metal dots or pins also. Maybe wishfull thinking but if you'd just add the 2 "holes"/dots on the top of the IC package it'd look identical to winbonds....

As I said wishfull thinking but those 2x2 dots on each side are on the excact same side as on the winbond IC's.

Is this purely luck (same machine used or something) or is this also one of those trademarks for a certain maker or something?

Well I'm going back to burning those things in here and looking what they can do

The two metal dots can be found on other manufacturers' IC's too. eg TCCD

Yhea samsung has them also, I know, I looked at my samsung memory (TCCC) and it has the 2x2 dots also, but its dots are closer together and closer to the center.

like this (the "-" is to space things out because with normal spaces ithe picture is a bit screwed up )

    |-----.-.----.-.-----|

and with me its like this:

    |---.--.------.--.---|

the dots themselves are farther apart and more to the outside edge of the chips

Yeah, I havent seen that great of an FSB on brainpower PCB at 2-2-2-x timings ... ok maybe a very rare few cases but thats all.

Yeah, it was voted a** of the year 2004 We can all see why!

On to the topic (LOL). I went today and bought another 2gigs of the AA4T stuff ... but that was the last of 50 sticks! That reseller had 50 sticks 2 days ago and now none ...word must be out I guess. He will have a new bunch of Twinmoss sticks coming in ... lets hope its the AA4T stuff ...
