when sentinel was talking about his vx thoughts a while back the ocz guys said that they use those chips (forgot if he was talking about winbond utt or not) in their value series.

anybody happen to know which OCZ value ram, if any has UTT? except if they do sell it, it might be failed vx, which would seal the rams overclocking fate.

Is this what you were looking for? See post #33.

    http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=350856&page=2

I'm inclined to think that if you find it then it was made before they realized that they could use the chips in the VX and sell them for more. I have been looking for it and all that I can now locate has the OCZ branded chips, not the M.tec chip like the ones in the link. Note that these are also TTD and not TMD coded chips. The link above is to screenshots of a P4 (at 255 with 2-2-2-6 timings), if I remember correctly.

Man, I don't know if there is any pattern here or simply, as the OCZ guys said in some of the earlier VX discussions, they don't all pass the testing. We may simply have a case of our own "speed binning" going on. Some chips do well, others don't.

The only ones that seem to be "sure things" right now are the 256MB PC3200 TwinMOS Speed Premium with the AA4T sticker codes and the date code on the ram ending with a 4, plus the "44D" speed rating on the chips. All of these seem to be doing well.

TwinMOS is probably binning these wouldn't you think?
I dont know if mine are TTD and I also dont know the week. I've got heat spreaders on them at the moment, so I cant look now. And you know its hard to get them off

I've noticed that for a long time, but I didn't want to disrespect one of the coolest BIOS modders of all time.

Something real weird is going on, i bookmarked this page on komplett I think on Thursday, I checked on Friday and they said there was stocking scheduled for the 17th, but then the page went down, only to reappear two minutes later, with the added info that they were CH5. They also stated a price of 49 pounds for a 512 stick, the reason for me constantly checking cos i thought maybe komplett have clocked on and started increasing the price, but i now reckon they probably contacted their supplier and found out that the next lot wont be CH5. Maybe they took the updated page down cos they can’t confirm that the next lot are either 1) winbond or 2) winbond CH5??

    The Stilt,
try Trfc of 15 or looser... my 2x512 VX do great but not at a Trfc below 15.
Trc I can run at 7 with no probs... 2-2-2-10-7-15 works great for me.
maybe that's all your modules need..

Speaking of codes, I've copied from OC Forums some info pulled from Kingston Value Ram. The first set of numbers are off a 512MB stick which was purchased from Fry's and tested on the same P4 rig as the OCZ. Hit the same 255 at 2-2-2-6 with 3.6v and the second set of numbers was from a retail box at CC of 2x256 which I spotted but left at the store because of the high asking price. I was just interested in seeing if there were any locally and what info was on them so I could pass it along. The first KVR stick is pictured at OCF and has the name coding pattern as I've described below. Here is a link to that thread, see post #73 if you are interested in the picture of the KVR. It is not a great picture, but you can see the peculiar layout of the chip's coding.

Copy of my post at OCF (2x256 set):
    ******************************************

I found a set of 2x256 at a local Circuit City which match the pictures taken by Diablo except for some minor differences. I did not get them, again, because they were priced at $150 after sales tax for 2x256.

Note one item of interest. Usually the Kingston label is across the top and then the numbers below. These chips have the first set of numbers to the right of the Kingston label, so both the name "Kingston" and the first set of numbers are on the top. In many cases, the date is on the second line, and then the chip coding is on the third line. These chips have the coding on the left side of the 2nd row, which is actually across the bottom, then what appears to be the date, plus more coding to the right. All of the second group of numbers are across the bottom row of the chip.

The set I found was coded like this.

First row - label and numbers: KINGSTON 401137.05

then blank space with the circular Winbond "dimples" visible,

followed by the chip code & date: D3208DL5T-5 0416PT01

    OK major update time:

    Slapped the 2x 256 Twinmos (Mtec) into my Abit IS7-e/3.06 P4m rig in DC ( slot 1 & 3)

Also fitted the DDR booster in slot 2 (tight !! fit !!)

Ill let the picture do the talking...............

This is at 3.6v (as shown by BIOS DDR booster shows 3.3v) , it just keeps going up.
Ill leave it to burn in for a little.

BUT this means that the booster dont work in my Neo2/A64 setup or this memory does not like my Winnie

well after looking at almost every store in Porto i finally found a 2x512 kit of Twinmos that have P/N finishing at AA4T, chips date finish at 4 and chip code at 50D (forgot to look the dimples), pcb looks to be BP tho only single sided (does that influence?)... but they aren't speed premium...
and till now we have only seen good results with the Speed Premium's modules, right?
