    Talking

Well i was determined that my Neo2 was a dud so i decided to get a new one.
I picked up today Neo2 and 3200+ 90nm cpu, while i was there i thought ahhh why not. I was really after the 3500+ 90nm but unfortunatly Aus wont have them for another month atleast and my 3500+ 0.13 couldnt do 2.6 stable (0.5 Version).

    Neo2 Ultra chip
    0420A2
    Korea

    3200+
    0441UPFW

So im expecting alot out of this combo, a guy in ocaus forums picked up a 3200+ 90nm and was able to do 2.75 stable on air.

Ill report later with few screenies just waiting on the xp-90 and Vantec Tornado Fan to arrive.

EDIT: Is it fine to put some AS5 on the NB? Should it cover the whole chip?
It doesnt look healthy what MSI uses

I have pretty much the same setup as you (replaced the tornado though), cleaned the NB up on my Neo2 board (so little paste!) and covered the whole chip with ceramique paste before refitting the stock HS/fan.

Once you have managed to find a stable overclock post your full load temps!

So you used ceramique paste, do you think arctic silver 5 will be alright to use on the NB?

    thx perc,
I'm having the same problem, see here: http://forum.msi.com.tw/thread.php?threadid=66540

I figured out why not disable the USB keyboard and mouse support in the bios, seems to work so far...

Yeah should be ok as long as you're very careful not to shorten the board with AS5, I used ceramique for both the CPU and NB since it's fully non conductive and many have found the performance is pretty much as good as their own AS5.

I don't think the NB chip is 100% flat so I applied a tiny bit extra paste at the centre and refitted the HS/fan before pushing down on it to make sure the paste would spread evenly, not safe if you are using AS5 since it only takes a tiny amount of excess paste to shorten the board.

Fair enough, ill use AS5 on the NB, ill just spread it using thin plastic or something.
