    Gskill DDR620 on DFI LP UT

    Got my 1GB PC4400 512MB 2.5-3-3-7 / 2-2-2-5 kit and tested it on the DFI.

    lets see what it does on a Single channel platform.

    ================================================== ========
    This mem does NOT WORK with the DFI with 2 dimms inserted, I get 10K errors in memtest #5.

    [UPDATE]
    I tested with a other 3400+ CPU and now with Drv Strenght bootable at 1, i come alot further with this mem. 275Mhz 2.5-3-3-5 @2.6v.
    I have a strong feeling that is has to do with the Drv Strenght.
    [/UPDATE]

    I ask jack from Gskill, he said it is a known compatible problem with single channel controllers

    So only 1 dimm inserted you will get the max. mem stability.

    Max stable is 265MHz 2.5-3-3-5 1T with 2 dimms inserted.
    ================================================== ========

    with 1 dimm
    2.7v
    10/5 bios
    Skew value = 128
    Drv strenght = 1
    4b burst enabled
    All with 1T CPC.

    with 2 dimms
    2.7v
    10/5 bios
    Skew value = 128
    Drv strenght = 1
    4b burst disabled
    1T CPC.

    Looks pooh, only one thing for it, send it to me! :P

    Seriously though, nice timings for DDR600.
    I've heard it all, I've seen it all, I've done it all. I just don't remember any of it.

    Is that 1T or 2T, I suspect 2T judging by superPI.

    I wonder what my Bh5 would run with only one stick.

    Nice bandwith though . very nice.

    The pifast is low cause of the CPU speed.

    Wow really nice kakaroto, I think those are the best bandwidths I have seen so far here, excluding dual channel chips. Also changing the timings to 2.5-3-3-7 on the 2x512MB didnt help? Thats kind of wierd I thought DFI boards worked nice with this stuff.

    Here a message from onepagebook feedback:

    (2x 512 problem)

    That 's nothing to do with RAM, that's really a big bug there even the designer of the board, Oskar Wu understand this prob. I heard several users have this prob though. Personally I will let Oskar know about this matter.

    Thank you very much to let me know about this.

    Looks like its a very serious bug ..

    Is it 2x512 or 2x256? I'm confused
    The label on the modules says it is 2x512 and sandra says it is 2x256.

    Its one 512MB module.

    Bank 0 is one side of the dimm with 8 IC's and Bank 1 the other side.

    Nice speeds K!
    Which dimm slot? 1?

    Slot 3 seems to be my most stable slot.

    tried read preamble of 5.5ns instead of 5.0ns ?
    tried no skew value at all ?

    can the ram handle

    Trrd = 2
    Twr = 2
    Twtr = 2
    Trtw = 2

    at any speeds ? what's the highest clock you can manage with them all at 2 for those 4 values ?

    These are the max stable in memtest test#5 in DDR600 2.7V

    One module can do 15 passes stable at settings below. Other module same settings only Max asyn 8NS and preamble lat. 6NS

    TrFc =12 gives me "detecting array"

    Drive strenght level 1 works the best for me, higher only makes it instable.
    Increasing Skew will stablize the ram, own experience.

    Interesting... the 3700EB runnin @ 250mhz 3-3-2-8 gets 2027mb/s (ocz memtest). Wondering because of 350mhz diff on CPU speed or something? Wonder how these TCCD performs under similar condition...
