My Gskill does no more than 272 1:1 2.5,3,3,7.One module does 272 the other does 278 at those timings.More volts does not seem to help.
My stuff:-
Msi neo2
FX53 cooled my mach2
1gig Gskill pc4400 (2.5,3,3,7) bu808 pcb
audigy 2 zs
6800GT
To reach higher HTT i have change ras to cas to 4
Max so far is 281
I have to use htt x3 over 240 otherwise its unstable.Of course it could be this motherboard thats holding me back.
A higher HTT don't help, well at least on my S754 3200+ it didn't.
HTT is how fast the processor talks to IO subsystems. (NIC's, other cpus ect) In our case, the HTT exceeds the rest of the hardware in speed so it makes no diffrence.
However with PCI-X it might actually start to make a diffrence.

Tonytiger you should RMA it, it is advertised to run 275mhz so I'm sure you wouldnt have a problem doing so.
I got memory from :-http://www.excaliberpc.com/product_...roducts_id=4242.Took only 3 days to the UK.I need to do some further testing, maybe onepagebook could give me some tips before i RMA them.Running memtest #5 after about 5 loops i get errors above 272 for one module and 278 for the other.Only lowering the timings can i get 272 dc.The max is around 280.More volts does not help.
Its nice and stable @11*265 2.5,3,3,7 but i was hoping for 292*10.
I am using bios 1.36b on the msi k8n neo2.
I would be gratefull for any help before i RMA them.
The thing to understand is that there can be a lot of variables causing instability on the NEO2....it might not be just the ram. You hafta make sure that you manually set the Mem speed and timings, make sure the HT can handle the HTT you are using (adjust to x3, x4, accordingly), stay away from sata channels 1/2, know that sata channels 3/4 are quirky above 260htt, manually lock the AGP/PCI bus at 67, have a solid PSU, etc, etc.
It has taken a few weeks to work all the wrinkles out of this NEO2 I have. Adding the Gskill was just the final step. I was already getting my Corsair 3200 XL up to 265 2.5-3-3-7 before I swapped.
Also, higher HTT, in and of itself, does NOTHING, for performance. Forget about HTT as any kind of performance determiner. Instead, use HTT as needed to get your max memory speed and CPU speed...find the sweet spot. If you have memory that can run high speeds at 1:1, then of course you will want high HTT...but only because you want the mem speed raised. Raising HTT and running lower mem speeds using the dividors adds little, if any , performance. Same goes for the CPU speed. Raise the HTT as necessary to max out your CPU with your available multipliers. Again, the key is to find an HTT that maxes both your memory and CPU speeds...nothing more.
Tonytiger, if you have some specific questions please ask away and I can try to help. What are your BIOS settings in the core cell area? What is the full hardware specs?

Best time was a far east prescott at 21sec, right? Best for fx was 23 with bh5 @290 on a cascade or something right?
Pretty good considering you probably didn't even need a vmod to get it.![]()

Yep...no mods to any of the hardware. No volt mods. Stock Mach II. Just plug and play.Originally Posted by Lithan

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. This is my settings on the core cell menu:-
dimms on 1&2
memory:-
200mhz
1T
2.5
3
3
7
sata raid 0 is on port 3/4
htt *3
mem voltage 2.75 (higher does not help)
cpu multi is 10 (or lower for testing) max my fx53 will is 2.93Ghz
cpu voltage is 1.75
agp =67
My Spec:-
s939 fx53 cooled by mach2 lian li kit
MSI k8n neo2 bios 1.36b

Antec Truepower 550w
I might try bios 1.35 and lowering htt next.
TonyTiger
Congrats, mike  You are getting higher and higher
Maybe you can get near 24seconds with the A64 tweaker!? Or did ya already use that?![]()

You have not enabled the "aggressive" timings option under core cell menu
A big difference for me is that I found my Raptors in RAID 0 were not working well even on channels 3/4 above 260htt. I ended up using a SATA card I had laying around. It solved the issue for me and opened up the higher HTT ranges.

Thanks for the info.No the agressive timings are disabled ,dimms are in the 1&2 closet to the cpu.
I am only testing with memtest and not booting into windows would sata raid effect this?I am booting from a cd and also have the legacy usb disabled (kb/storage option etc) as this seems to add more errors.I only get 2 errors at 275 ,2.5,3,3,7.If i raise the vdimm above 2.75 i seem to get more errors.
Just tried htt x2 stiill the same.Might try 1.35 this seems the one gskill tested with also.
sorry to tell you that man , but i had 26 sec at 3070 , if my cpu allow me to have 3270 i'd could have 24 sec , BH5 is better for sure.
Well of course bh5 is better. BH5 would be 2-2-2. But BH5 would also need some top notch single sided sticks and close to 4v to do that.
Only the stupidest humans believe that the dogma of relative filth is a defense.
i was at 3,4v to have this time, it's not so much.
Edit : of course you can do significantly better with the A64 tweaker.

Ln2 !!!!
An FX at 3600mhz can do the 21sec without japanese's tricks , just the tweaker is needed and 2K3 server![]()
