Figured it out - AX850 8 pin cable had fused as it came out of the PSU. Card looks to be fine despite whatever must have caused that, hopefully using a different PSU won't then kill it. I don't believe that PSU is under warranty as it was a cheaper refurb unit that I think only has 90 days of warranty. Hopefully testing will continue smoothly this week!
