Anyone else had their rapid OC buttons get stuck? In the middle of a session today, the + got stuck, and I had to practically dissemble the button to get some functionality back. I'd RMA it, but I've already got one OC-F away fixing an issue.

NB, is it possible to save OC profiles to/from USB sticks?

Is your CPU being detected as a 3570k? Flash the BIOS again and see if that fixes?

Have you tried booting from the backup bios, if not, give it a go,if all's well, you can then copy the backup bios to the main bios chip.

yes i have ... that is not even working ... says 'NO SUPPORTED HARDWARE FOUND' ... IT DOESNT even boot
there is some kind of physical issue with bios rom i think ... its not ur usual software based trouble shooting ...

Given the board wont boot from the backup bios its sounds corrupt to me. If it was my board I would hot flash the bad bios chip.

I would think the bios or bios's are a little screwed up & most likely the ME & a flash or two should sort it out.

You already tried main to backup flash & that didn't work?
You already tried putting the bios file on a USB stick & attempted to boot from the bad backup bios to see if the bios would recover itself?

At this point I would probably swap the bios chips over just to confirm the good main chip can boot in the bad backup's bios socket. I would also attempt to flash the bad chip again in its new socket. This may be risky & you may bork both of them leaving you with an un bootable board. I have a bios chip flasher so would not bother me personally. Perhaps a safer! thing to do at this point would be to attempt a hot flash.

I have not had the need to hotflash for many years however it should still be doable. Basic upshot is remove both bios chips & lightly seat/replace the good main bios chip in its socket with a thin piece of string like sewing string under it then lightly replace it. The idea is to boot to dos/bios then pull on the string to pop the chip out whilst the board is running. You can then insert the bad backup chip & flash it from dos/bios. You could even boot to windows then pop the chip & flash in windows.

Only things I can see going wrong would be you may have to boot with both chips installed as the board may check for the backup bios on post & fail to do so if its not in place.

i need a bit more details on this hot flashing stuff ...
u mean i have to physically remove n replace the bios chips ...
by the way my motherboard is still under warranty should i not try to send it for RMA claim ... n then try something if it is still faulty ...

Yes a hotflash will require you to physically remove the bios chips.

Another option could be to simply buy one or two pre programed chips & fit them.

Yes by all means if that's what you feel most comfortable with.

I like most here at XS like to work our own stuff out & just figured you were like me & wanted to give everything you can think of a go before RMA...

well i also wana try every thing before i give up my board for warranty claim
as im in pakistan its nearly impossible to buy pre program bios chips ... even this board is only imported by one authorized distributor who has two out lets in whole country ...
so u can well imagine my limitations ...
how much chances r there for using n making present chips work ... is there no soft solution for it ...
n can u explain how to talk to guys to consider my mobo for Warranty claim cause most people who sell stuff r technixally not sound n once they will fire it up they will never see any issue as mobo is running every thing properly at stock speeds but it cant overclock ... it dnt even detect my 3570k integrated hd4000 ... i cant see hd4000 in cpuz graphics tab nor in gpu-z ...
since bios r not showing full features one can say mobo has some issue but can there be any issue in cpu it self as when ist time i faced this issue the denug error was 00 which is related to NO CPU INSTALLED ...
i dnt know mobos fully but have some knowlesdge about them n this sort of bios error is one of its kind ... there is no online solution ... few more guys faced similar issues but no one has shared if his issue is resolved or not ... n honestly speaking asrock has really disappointed me ... b4 this board i was using z77 ITX its layout was pathetic no room for cpu cooler placement n now the flagship z77 oc formula crashed bios ...

Have you tried moving the clear cmos jumper and pulling the battery for a few hours, this "hard reset" can sometimes be a godsend.

There used to be all sorts of people all over the place that could hot flash, re-program & sell bios chips but tbh today with modern recoverable bios's & dual bios boards I guess the need for such thing is very small.

Hot flash has never failed me before so I cant see why it would not work using present chips.

I guess RMA may be difficult if your country does not have an official Asrock distributor & the retailer you purchased from is unwilling to help. I think you may have to sent the board to Europe or Taiwan for RMA. Personally I would fire off a support questionnaire http://event.asrock.com/tsd.asp & ask for assistance. I would also ask a few members here what they think & ask if they could find someone to help. I will gladly ask about for you if you feel this is your only solution.

I do remember seeing an issue upgrading the z77 bios from an old bios to a new one. What I mean is skipping a few bios's say 1.3 ~ 1.8 causing problems but as it did not concern me I never looked into it any further.

Stuff always has the chance to go wrong & imo no manufacturer escapes this possibility. I for one am very impressed with my Asrock & will definitely be buying another one. I was also warmly welcomed to the Z87 thread when I showed my face in there & am impressed that Nick Shih takes the time to post there himself.

Not all boards need it, see if you can apply more than 1.8v on vdimm, then boot back in to bios see what it sets and then double check with mm.

There r tons of posts on the Internet people having issues with their bios
Thing is a low end motherboard can get faulty but the support makes all the difference ... There is absolutely no one online on any forums representing asrock ... Nick is also not replying to any threads n even personal messages on forums n on Facebook groups ... What a stupidity I chose this stupid brand over Asus ... Really disappointing

I've had a few ,especially when the board is covered with the white stuff ...the +/- buttons are not the best no doubt, the funny thing is they always stop working when you need them the most ,try to insulate them and apply some grease
