Nice. Hm, what could be do better cooling at my side? 9590 was beast... 1.55V 5800+ MHz but I cant hard benchmarks run over 5350 MHz much, because voltage/temps ...

It can all be verified if you check my HWBot profile. I'm not making any of this up.
My conclusion is that the 9370 is a tigher chip and heats up really quickly as compared to the 8350. All in all performance is very similar and only restricted by the cooling. Also I have had this 8350 for months and did the majority of my learning FX on that chip. So there may be room for improvement on the 9370 with some more time but not much.

i suspect the extra heat being from the nb. however it is nice to see nb gain so much. we can attribute this to better silicon. 9370 seems a bit unstable at those lower volts of 1.62, maybe 1.7 for max clock stability.

Flank3r and Johan, I appreciate all the info on the 9xxx chips...
You guys are killing me though! I have a decent 8350 (along with a few other chips) and really don't need another cpu with Kaveri being so close.

While I'm sure the 9590 should clock a little better, the price drops and included AIO cooler are making the 9370 look VERY tempting @ $290...
That being said, I really need a new chip to torture NOW... I'm gonna break down and order a 9370 form NewEgg tonight.
Hopefully I'll get lucky and get a good one.

If you don't mind Flank3r, I'll do some tests with it and post some result in this thread this weekend.

Haha, Dave...exactly my thoughts, but I'm a little ahead of you - already ordered a 9370 few days ago and waiting for delivery
You'll get it earlier though, because I'm importing it from the UK.
Crossing my fingers we both have luck and get good ones!

Good luck in the crapshoot Ivan! I just hit the submit purchase button a few minutes ago.

I've really been thinking about this for a few days now.
Should I order an ASRock EX6+ board, and get ready for Kaveri, or go for a 9370 and get instant gratification...

Its funny . I tested maybe more 20 pieces of FXs (Bulldozer+Vishera), but I like them and most of them are in my personal collection forever.

Thanks guys, I wish I could just thank your post but it doesn't appear that I am able to. Thanks for letting me borrow your thread FlanK3r.
@ Nemo I was at the voltage/heat limit for the 9370 the better die causes a lot more heat than the 8350 did. And yes I was impressed with the improved NB but I really don't think it gained me a whole lot and could make things a bit unstable if I got the ram too tight. Every little bit counts tho I guess.
@ Infra red and Dave . You'll have fun with it they take off a lot faster than the 8350, less volts needed. Like FlanKer said I have three of these and don't know if I could part with them they're the same but different. All have their own" personality" so to speak.

Just checked the UPS tracking number, and my 9370 will be here tomorrow... (Sorry Ivan, I may get the jump on you as far as testing goes. )

I think I'm going to put it on the ASRock EX9 board with my ghetto cooling first before I move it to the main rig.
It's really old gear consisting of a Swiftech XT waterblock and a Chevette heatercore for the rad, but it should still be better than the AIO water cooler that comes with the kit...

The EX9 is actually starting to grow on me a little, bios 1.40 opened that board up quite a bit! I'm getting a feel for it, and while doesn't feel as reliable as the CH5F in the main rig it's done pretty well in the testing of my weakest 8350... After a lot of work I've actually gotten better P95 stable clocks on the EX9 (~+75Mhz@ 40 mins P95 Blend)...

Oh well... It's a good thing I'm at home playing with my computers!
If I was on the road, I could go to jail for CUI (clocking under the influence)...

Starting to get cold and dark outside. And after seeing all these results I got the itch.. So I thought a 9370 would be a nice little addition to keep it warm and cozy inside. Only problem is that not a single store in Finland have a fx-9xxx listed... Not sure whats up with that.

We have them listed here (not sure about availability), but the prices are insane, compared to the current ones. Haven't been updated. FX-5950 is listed at about 770 euro and Scan's price is 275 euro.
    Tell me about difference...
So I ordered FX-9370 from Scan in UK. Should be here next week. It's OEM, but I'm fine with that.

Wow that's still pricey. I got the 9370 for $250 CDN. These things really are made for water too, this way you don't have extra hardware kicking around.

Sadly that will land me with double VAT + customs duty. So I'd rather wait it out

Noticed now that Multitronic added the 9370 today, but its 420€ and not in stock. Hopefully a temporary price!

Believe me, that is not the case in practice here on my island You can get away from the double VAT, if you get the store to ship the product VAT free, and its then paid at the post/customs office. But very few stores will actually do that. The major shops in Finland will, however. Its a mess, I know, but thats the reality.

Here we go, had a request for this from FlanK3r. FX-9370@5016 stability test.
Ran AMD OD stability test for the full hour, 1.476 set in bios with LLC set to Ultra which will net up to 1.5v. CPU_NB set to 1.26v. HT ref/HT /NB, 250/2500/2500.

    no probs
I do like it so I have been nice to it so far trying to keep the voltage down you know. It does react well to "good" cooling so that helps keep the volts down a bit.

    Next FX-9590s in preview

I like older Asus Crosshair V Formula for FX testing. This board is awesome. It switched maybe 20 CPUs, still OK after around 10 LN2 actions. And now second one FX-9590

CPU is not from enduser shop, but is it from sales.

    serie 1327PGS

    hope next week for benchmarks

It's great to read this even if only on 4 hours sleep. Nice work as always Flank3r. Looking forward to the FX-9590 benches. Are you interested in looking at power at say 5GHz vs. Original 8150?
