Se here we are. I see that the cruncher just in front of me (rank 14) RCTCGrid has now stopped since over fifteen days. This could have helped me pass him, but now after HCC has stopped, to bridge the gap of 50 millions will be a very long long affair.

I'm in shock that this is the end for gpu work. Why would they not have a new project in the works?

Because, they know you'll come running back as soon as they have Alpha/Beta tested their new GPU project and the word gets out.

Since the projects code their individual applications, this is a choice for the project scientists, not the WCG staff. Now I'm sure any project with a significant amount of work left is looking into this now that they've seen what it can do, but there's still lead time to developing these applications. I think we'll be seeing more of these shortly though...

The ending of this projects coincides nicely with summer. I'm going to down clock my CPU and enjoy lower temps in my house.

I've been getting the occasional GPU resend unit but I've switched my rig over to allow CPU projects again.

I haven't gotten any new GPU task lately. Down to 14 hours of work for the 7770 and 5 hours for the 5850.

Both rigs are running CPU tasks too, so they are busy while they wait for any resends.

Can't wait for a new HCC project, there is still so much work to do.

7950 is out of units. I'll have to switch over to CEP2 when I get home from work. Anyone know how 8 threads of CEP2 will run on a single machine (Home-PC in sig)?

7770 has 545 tasks left, about 18 hours. I'll be switching it over to CEP2 as well until I get my Sapphire.

Only one machine is out of w.u's. A couple 7770's are still working on 0/1 wu's with a projected end date of 05/08 so there should be some re-sends until then.

A special Thank You to those that have crunched HCC, I appreciate all your efforts.

As for me, after over three 3 years of extreme crunching it's time to turn off the PSU's and turn the household decor back over to the wife.

P.S. If you live in Alberta and are looking for a cruncher or just a good machine please PM me as I'll be selling. However I won't be shipping anything as all my crunchers are going to be sold as a full system, cases and all.

I'm getting only few resends, ~5 per hour. All machines still have a backlog, in total ~6000 WUs.
However it seems there's still a problem with validation and stats...

My points were much lower this morning than usual when I checked this morning. I hope they fix the validation issue soon.

Glad I could help as much as I could for HCC. As for many of us here, HCC is a very important protject.

Sorry to see you stop, but with 175 years you have done your part for sure.

CEP2 has massive amounts of read/writes to your HDD. Running 8 threads may cause problems. I thing that can help is go into BoincManager and set write to the HDD every xxx seconds to 300. Leaving it at the default 60 will probably cause issues. I wouldn't recommend running 8 at a time to start. Try running 4 and see how things run. If it runs ok then try 6 and then 8. FWIW CEP2 runs better on Linux.
