From reading that thread it just sounds like that is the "advanced" way to enter the flash command while the other is the shorthand or "basic" way. I guess if something doesn't work with the shorthand way, you try the overrides. I had to use the --protectoff command on my card in order to flash while others do not need to, I guess it all depends on which card/manufacturer you have.
Got it. So in my case, I can do simply "nvflash mod.rom" and I'm all good, right?
