On a 120Hz (no VSync) 1080p monitor 3-way GTX 680 SLI still shows input lag when AA is enabled in BF3 or Far Cry 3 for instance. As long as I can feel that there's room for improvement, even for low resolution. Also, Far Cry 3 has lousy frame rate on 2560 x 1600. Far more fun to play on 1080p at 90-140fps.

Glad I'm not the only who notices this...I got a GTX 690 that struggles at 1080p 120hz with AA on Black Ops 2

I think the price is just right. That card is a status symbol so it shouldnt be cheap. Poor people can play with their SLI and Crossfire trash (what a first world problem..)

If you are waiting that long might as well wait for both AMD and Nvidia to launch their new products at the "end of the year."

As much as people like to say they are only releasing 10k cards, they will be continuously trickling cards out to AIBs.

+1, but if a single chip card could do it then all the better

Hopefully some triple screen 3d reviews too

    Regarding the SLI convo -

Two cards scales very well, but only in supported games. Back when I used to use SLI / Xfire, I supported it with a passion, but then came all the MMOs that didn't support it - currently I've been playing DDO, GW2, and Path of Exile, none of which support dual GPU (zero FPS increase and second GPU just sits idle), and back to when they were running on my 560 ti SLI, I had plenty of lag with the FPS dropping to below 30 fps (I also see lag in around 30-40 FPS, need to maintain at least 45 FPS). So I chucked those out for a single Kepler instead.

Triple card scaling in reviews was mainly only noticable at ultra high resolutions, and with highly clocked SB-E CPUs. One review compared an X58 CPU @ 3.8, and SB-E @ 4.6, and the results from that turned me away from bothering with 3 GPUs.

I don't even need to bother with 2 GPUs, but I just love the look of the 690 and Titan cards so much, and this reference 680 I just got through RMA is ugly, yet a decent clocker running at 1254 / 7200.

I understand as I am an off-again on-again WoW player, and had a dabble in TERA Online. Now, TERA Online is an absolutely gorgeous game that plays great on Nvidia Surround--WoW not so much. Ergo, that is one of the reasons why I have a trusty DDR2 backup rig running a single GTX 460 and a single 1080p display.

Well even a single 560 ti wasn't managing for me in those games @ 1200p. It was enough for around 30 FPS with all the settings cranked up, but that's too laggy for me and I need 45 FPS minimum maintained.

Actually I'd be much better off getting a second 512 Gb M4 for raid 0 goodness and I don't think the GTX 690 will get reduced enough. Titan costs far too much for me, and I don't think there's going to be any GK104 replacements because this chip was always meant to be the mid range. This free 680 upgrade from KFA2 should be good for a long time, it looks like I'll be skipping a gen now.

Its true that Nvidia are just milking people dry with their prices, but then these cards are amazing.

Galaxy is not the only brand doing 875 MHz without Boost, and there's another clocked at 900 MHz.

Im waiting for overclocking results with the stock voltage.

If these things manage to reach 1200-1300+ Mhz out of the box like GK104 can ...

If it does 900mhz out of the box then lets hope its got a bit of headroom and it will be a rocket. If it does 1000 stock volts then maybe 1100 or more with water and volts turned up then fun part will be modding it with water to see what she does.

    Cant wait.

The samples I've seen don't clock as well as GK104, but 900 MHz still leaves a fair bit of headroom.

1000 without voltage increase is very hard i think. maybe a little handpicked cards.

So I was being way too over optimistic

If only we could have custom versions, Im sure that MSI / Asus / Galaxy etc could break 1000 Mhz if they were allowed to make non reference cards.

Why have the AIB partner clock the card higher and charge you a premium when you can do it yourself?

Will differently clocked versions be reflected by the price? There was talk about an Asus card with quite high clocks (1+ GHz boost).

Initially it was said here that there would be no non-reference pcb's for Titan, has that been revised? ie Lightning?
