I'm having some heat issues which keeps crashing my crunchers, I guess I was too quick to implement my winter set-up. I guess I shouldn't complain about mid 70's weather in January, it is just unexpected and unplanned for

I will be much happier when I get my permanent cooling solution for my crunching room in the spring.

I am interested to have more details about your permanent cooling solution.
I too have heat issues and can crunch fully only in deep winter. At the moment external temps are around 32 which is perfect. The only thing is that I refuse is to aircon or to use energy to cool that means to destroy the heat generated by the crunchers. First this will impact heavily my bill and second I find this way of doing a little absurd. I have not found yet the ideal solution. As a result in summer my crunching power becomes minimal.

Geothermal solutions? Temps so far underground are always constant.

Sam you are approaching another legend MrKermit. I a couple of days you will pass him. It is some time that he has not crunched with his farm. I remember when he would generate 10 million or more points in a day without any GPU.
Thanks to GPU crunching we can approach these stars. It's like being in a rocket with an antimatter engine.
But can you imagine when these server farms will have multicores equivalent to a GPU like the future CPU board coming from Intel. Some members may generate 200 million points in one day without GPU. Projects will have to be redefined to better use this future enormous crunching capability.

The WCG server can't handle our current output without issues, so any server farms upgrading to Xeon Phi will surely crash it altogether.
