Also I did get my 7870 crunching on Win7 with 8 tasks
Just popped it into an i7 system, updated the BOINC version to 7.0.38 and installed the 12.11 beta 8 CCC, added the app_info, worked it up to 4, then 8. I did come home today to it frozen and last event viewer entry was at noon, right when I home and it was running fine then
Powered it off and back on, and it seems to be running. I don't trust this card and I might see if Asus will RMA it for me. It was an open box return to Fry's and all they do is see if it'll POST...
Open boxes cost a bit less but are a bit more of a problem risk...
I have been burn once or twice and stay away from them.
