Hey Bun-Bun: What does that mean? Are previously working app_info files no longer working? I had to shut my rigs down. On restart, I'd get like 10-12 WUs and then nothing. Communications deferred and no work. I deleted the app_info, got work and am minutes from enabling the suspended gpu WUs. Did something change???

    WFO,

HCC ATI GPU WUs have gone from version 6.56 to version 7.05. To be able to use the new ATI GPU HCC 7.05 WUs you need to change and reset your app_info.xml file(s).

See the app_info thread for details.

    Cheers,
    Jean-Guy

You can clearly see we are all running with a app_info file.
Team 2ch didn't have a lower score. Looks like they are just running stock GPU systems. Nothing extreme about that.

I wish the WCG forum was closed to the public. Like you have to be a member in order to see what we post here. Simple Google search brings up all of our posts.

And ya we don't know normal

    Retro77,

Remember the leakage of XtremeSystem crunching knowledge to other World crunching teams is really a motivator for us to innovate and find more Xtreme possibilities to help the global fight against deseases & starvation for humanity. Making the other World crunchers more productive is a win win situation for scientific research.

Besides that, Xtreme folks need this challenge and must give opponents a helping hand to make the crunching race more interesting...

    Have a great weekend,
    Jean-Guy

Besides, if it doesn't leak then who's going to validate all the work XS keeps churning out? Anyway, by the time a new technique from XS spreads across the rest of the grid the lads here still had it up and working first and should have the NEXT thing already in development.

Probably not. More like the new 7.05 WUs use more GPU/CPU time rendering previous data/points info obsolete. Just a guess. Cough, told ya so. I'd provide points data to support this but I bumped my cards for more gpu WUs than actual CPUs ( 10 cpus on 8 core/ 14 on 12 core) and need at least a week to get more data, revert and prove it. Anyone running 8 - 7.05s on a quad hyper-threaded or 12- 7.05s on a hex that can compare 7.05 points to the previous WUs yet??? Inquiring minds and all.

    WFO,

I have noted no appreciable difference between the processing time of ATI GPU hcc 6.56 and & 7.05 so far. I am using a quad hyper-threaded i7 2600K on my rigs and run 8 GPUs and CPUs. Timings were and still are for 2 WUs (2:58 AVG) and 8 WUs (7:32 AVG) . The timing change should occur next Monday or Tuesday when the larger 7.05 ATI GPU hcc files are released.

Possibly of interest: I used to get one 0-3 errors daily with a "No process is on the other end of the pipe. (0xe9) - exit code 233 (0xe9)
". The advent of 7.05 file produced 14 of these errors on my rig yesterday. This is possibly due to the transition from 6.56 to 7.05. Did anybody else notice an increase in error code 233 in their results status yesterday?

    Thanks,
    Jean-Guy

See this link regarding a problem with yesterday,s BOINC update: http://boincstats.com/en/forum/5/7985,1#119793

Apparently "The incremental which was running barely finished in time for the daily update started to run. The daily should have the latest numbers."

    Cheers,
