Hey, have you overclocked your 7950s yet? I have mine at stock 880MHz now. I'm finishing 8 WUs just over 4 min average. It should come out to just over 600k PPD. I think it can do much better than that with a decent overclock.

Make sure you are running 12.11 beta driver
set power limit in Overdrive to +20
set fan to a high as you but yet still not hear it (usually in the 4X% range)
downclock memory to 1000, and up that core to 1000

Is the memory downclock simply to conserve a few watts or does it help with anything else? How much does that save by chance, anyone know? And is a 1000MHz overclock very common? Mine is at 900 right now, wasn't sure how far to push and how exactly to best tell if it is stable aside from bombing units or display corruption lol.

umm a 1000 mhz clock on the 7950 shouldn't be too tough. Pretty much every card i have seen has done it .. a few at stock volts but usually setting power tune to +20 should do it.
You can try by going to 950 mhz and set power tune to +10 . If it is ok for a couple of hours .. bump it to 1000 and set power tune to +20.
i am running 1000mhz on my 7970's and was stable at stock volts. i did set power tune to +5 just to be safe

Downclocking memory saves a few watts, but more importantly, it should cut down on some heat. HCC GPU doesn't really benefit from high mem clocks, just high core clocks. It will affect your gameplay I would think though!

The opencl part is the same, but for games, yes it seems there is a nice difference.

P4???? very little points, lots of electricity. I think MM might even give you a pass from running those rigs. If you are going to run them turn HT off as they have the original implementation of HT and which &*%$###@! at crunching ... actually makes things worse, go single thread instead.

Oh so powertune adjusts (or allows for adjustment) of voltage? Wasn't sure what that slider was for. Interesting. I wonder how much the +5 is equal to...
