yes mate i know thats why we are trying to help before RMA...if anyone can confirm 55 can mean CPU problem, for ex a dead CPU will show 55 no matter what u do it will always put 55, do u have any chance to test CPU on another mobo ?

yes i have tried it with my friend mobo Asus Maximus V Gene and it goes fine both my cpu and ram (runs at 2600 fine)..before this i used to install it in M4E-Z (sold) its working good ^__^ its time to call the vendor or sell it to another one ^_^.
thank you for the troubleshooting with me sergio and all. i'll look for z77 oc formula or M5E...thanks again

After going through 2 3770Ks, and my 3rd 3770K also doing the same thing I bought a 2nd MVG... The 2nd MVG worked beautifully. I had already sold my 1st 2 chips, but I still had my 3rd chip that locked up below -100C on the first board, and it went full pot no problem on my new MVG. I've earned a lot of pretty solid globals on that 3rd 3770 and my 2nd MVG.

Now the 2nd MVG starts coldbugging just like my first board. Any chip a bit below -100C and the system locks up, no more full pot benching. I still have my 3rd 3770K which is "known good", but I also have a 4th and 5th 3770K now which I was trying to bin on the board but I can't because full pot benching isn't possible. I've already confirmed the chips can do 6.1GHz+ at -100C, but I can't fully test them.

Any ideas what keeps going wrong with these MVG's? Both were covered completely on top with vaseline (melted vaseline in the oven at 200F, applied to board with syringe). On back the 2nd board had liquid electrical tape over the socket and DIMMs, as well as frost king covering the entire back.

Can I get my 2nd MVG replaced? With it entirely covered in vaseline, I dread trying to go through RMA. I'm currently ranked 4th in the US and 37th world on the bot, and shooting for 2nd US currently... I'm not far off, but I'm getting really frustrated so far with my experience on Ivy Bridge with these MVGs. ""

Good day , Peter , Andre and Raja , can you guys help me find out if is the board going bad ? I have the same exact problem as posted and quoted here from I.M.O.G. My MV5 will cb at -140c always on 3 different cpus and cbb at -120 no matter voltages or loose mem timimngs low mem frequencies. it will shut down and reboot after -140c and i have to use torch to bring it down to -120c to boot , using bclk from 102 all the way to 108 does the same , it cannot be possible for 3 cpus to have the exact cbb amd cb , i cannot go colder than -140c , i have tried to tight very well the pot as well as loosen it up. , thanks for all the support Peter , Andre and Raja , can you guys tell me if the board its going bad ? Thank you in advanced any help guidance will be really appretiated. http://kingpincooling.com/forum/show...3317#post23317

My first Formula was doa (code 55 with 3 cpus), received my replacement and the ME version in bios is showing as N/A.

Anyone got an up to date magic version of M5F.cap that will flash the ME region? Dont fancy messing about with flashing in windows if I dont have to. Tried the asus windows ME updater thing posted above and it said no supported hardware...

    Many thanks!

    Link to forum post.

Grab the bottom link in that post - v 0.7.1b

Extract the above file - you will see 3 directories, 1 for dos flash, 1 for 32bit and 1 for 64bit.

Grab the latest M5f bios (kp cooling thread says v 0095) and extract.

Rename bios file to bios.bin and place in the relevant folder to your OS.

Run upd_all as administrator from that folder.

Once complete shut down and unplug mains power for a bit (minimum 30 seconds).

Power back up - bios flash will continue at post screen.

Once complete boot into bios and load optimised defaults, save and exit.

    Finished!

Truly an excellent tool - massive thanks to the author. Saved me a second RMA in a row.

OROM will be replaced with UEFI driver in the near future - no ETA but you will be able to access OROM features from with UEFI. Intel are phasing out the OROM approach slowly so we are moving over. I also heard that Intel's new OROM has a serious bug where RAID arrays fail to build sometimes, so we may not be updating to this in the new UEFI version until Intel patches it.

i just got my M5E and i was wondering why the fan controls cannot be adjusted bellow 60%, when i was on the m4a89td pro i could run them at 40% or less on dc. it also will not let me change the minimum temps for the case temp bellow 40c in the fan profile.

mmm then that maybe a problem

why dont u use a nice controller like the lamptron Touch ?
the board asus board i had just came from had lower thresholds for fan duty (aka voltage with DC,) it also seams that you can set them lower or even off with the ai tools. it just seams strange that there are floors like that in the bios for the case fans. i guess i can move wires around and use the cpu header for the 3k rpm delta that i have and want to choke off but i would rather just have the EUFI do it so i can keep my big rads fans on the cpu header and only have the delta kick on high when the case warm but stay on otherwise at a low rpm. it also seams strange to me that the new asus boards only support 1A per fan header but my older asus one did 2A.

The UEFI is locked to 60% by HQ as they got a huge number of complaints from a bunch of muppets that kept saying their fans would not start when set lower. Sad but true...

can we get an unlocked version for XS, maybe some code if it needs to happen or a setting that needs to be changed to unlock it that no one would know about without being told like if you enable memory swizzle it unlocks it for the fans or something random like that you should be able to do at all times for normal use.

also what is the best eufi right now?
