So 2600mhz multi works on P67??? If so the only thing z77 really offers performance wise over P67/Z68 M4E is Virtu MVP? I mean from what Ive seen you can push mem a little further on the M5G and M5F, and 4 sticks will no doubt clock higher. 2600mhz 1T though is really making me reconsider moving to the M5F though...
and 2800 toothis are Patriots of 99 dols 2x4GB VIPER XTREME 2400 11-11-11-30 amazing mem like my 2000 9-11-9-27 both do 2400 but the 2400 will do 2600 will test 2800
another test

i dont really have the $$$ to buy the Maximus 5 buy they told me its an amazing board, if i can get good money for this one maybe i do it, but for now im very happy to se the MIVE fly like this on cheap mem, will keep posting as i have Team Xtreme 2400 9-11--- lets see how far i go
with IVY and BIOS 3209 show all multis 1600/2000/2200/2400/2600/2800
cheers !

Any reason for me to move from bios v2001 to 3xxx?
I'm running a 2600k @ 5ghz. It's a little flaky now and again, but only when booting. Games and programs never crash.
You must [not] advance.

Yeah this really does open up new possibilities for me. May not need to buy any new boards afterall, just sell an old 2500k, move my good one to the P67-Pro and pick up a 3770k for the M4E. Dont even need to drain the loop - bonus!
Problem is if I get an Ivy I have to resist the temptation to pop the heatspreader...![]()
inmo really you dont need a 3770K they OC worse than 3570K and IMC not so good as the 3570K u have to be very lucky, the 3570K is cheap fast and dont heat as a 3770K and on the MIVE will go to this speeds of mem easy
i also see that no more damn SB problem of BSOD 124 or 101 even if stable on IDLE or whatever i NEVER had that BSOD's since i got IVY and on the same mobo, i tested like 8 SB and all did that crap
cheers !

124/101 on idle you need to run dynamic vcore and tweak the turbo add voltage in the CPU section of bios. Setting that section to "maximum" only makes it worse. Like you I've never been able to stop it using manual vcore (part of the reason I only run DVID).
Its odd you say that about the 3570K as Ive not seen any really good I5 IB clocks. After having had 3 2500k's that sucked I promised myself I'd stick to I7's from now on.
Try 12-13-13-2T with TRFC at 242+ to see if its your imc (or maybe board?) or the ram holding you back.
I was flashing my bios to the latest 3208 and well it looked like it was going fine, it loaded the ROM etc. although now i cannot post into windows when i am on that BIOS. Screen just stays black and my rig will stay on for a while then just turn off then turn back on.
I have pulled power cord, pulled the battery, and switched the jumpers etc. to clear cmos...still nothing.
Gladly my other BIOS works fine, although it is at the stock BIOS which doesn't even let me passed the stock 34 multi....
Just wondering if there is anything else i can try to salvage that BIOS..For those no familliar with this board it has a button that allows you to boot into a separate bios in case something like this occurs.
just a bit annoyed right now!
well this is another case mate, one of this BIOS destroyed my chip for me and some other ppl, so far other reports perfect flash
you have the ROG CONNECTION that u can reprogram try to put my 3209 i posted some pages back load a flash drive (fat 32) clean with the name M4E.ROM whatever the BIOS you want to load

yeah i tried 3209 and...its the same for me as 3208i can use my rig but sadly i cant OC or even use Xfire, while i bios i cannot save any changes or even overclock passed x34 multi. I also notice in bios it does not recognize any of the other pcie-e lanes other than the one of my main card.
Well i tried this, and it looked like the flash worked. Although much to my horror, everything is still the same, boot up takes FOREVER, cant save any settings in BIOS, stuck on stock settings, and PCI-E lanes are still not being recognized other than my main GPU (cant use X-fire) .... ugh....looks like its time for RMA?
1) do the other BIOS if you switch to it works ? or its just that chip ?
2) remove CPU and CHECK socket and pins you can have hair, dust, paste or a bent pin and will do this kinda crap i helped 4 friends and worked out
Good luck
BTW: the best way to inspect for this take a picture of the socket then you see it on the laptop or whatever cauz at eye very difficult so see
Best of lucks

sadly both BIOS have 3209 on them....and no there is no bent pins or malfunctions when it comes to the CPU and the way it is installed. Is it possible to use ROG connect and use an older BIOS?

New bios from Asus for MIVE-Z, but nothing for MIVE (i think MIVE-Z update fixed W8RP problems, cpu microcode might have been updated).
Did throw some SS cooling for i7 2600k, cannot get over 5.0Ghz to boot to windows, even at 1.6volts... grrrr.... i7 3770k goes happily to 5.4Ghz in Z77 board.

Yes i have
It goes 4.9Ghz 1.315v and 5.0Ghz with 1.325v so it should be able to do 5.1Ghz with 1.4v easelly but no it wont do it.
