The Sabertooth offers the most in terms of pricing, but then again a ~$50 difference isn't too relevant for a high-end build so you should really choose what suits your needs the most in this situation.

I'd go with the Deluxe or WS, they're both quality boards with dual LAN and won't have the slightest problem achieving a moderate overclock. 32GB isn't a problem either with the right sticks, G.Skill is usually a safe bet.

    For Raja (or other)

I use AIDA64 with RIVE, but AIDA can't read information for "opt_temp" and temp "PCH",
    AIDA's staff told me this

The mentioned temperatures are only available via bank switching on the EC (Embedded Controller) chip of Rampage IV Extreme. However, switching the bank on the EC may cause a system crash or BSoD if other software or the BIOS also communicates with the EC. Hence we cannot risk of a bank switching as long as Asus refuses to implement synchronizing in their software (AI Suite). We've already contacted them about that, but they don't seem to care about 3rd party software
it's possible to solve the problem?
    I only use AIDA64

    Thank you very much

I don't think ASUS is going to open that up for third parties Titsou.

With previous platforms, there were no problems

I'll be disappointed (and those who use AIDA64) if Asus did not do

    Cold Boot

I have a cold boot since I passed OC 4.5GhZ, it can come from what?
    my settings

    45x100
ram @ 2400MHz C10 (stable OCCT Large DATA and Hyper32M)
    LLC CPU: High
    LLC VCCSA: REGULAR
    CPU Clock Gen Filter: 20UF
    Vcore: 1.27v
    VTT: 1.15V (same with 1.20)
    VCCSA: 1.10
    Vdimm: 1.65v

    the rest in AUTO

for info, to 4.3GhZ (and same settings, and the vcore down) there is no cold boot
other info, if I switch from 4.5 to 4.4GhZ after the bios, boot the PC directly, when I go to 4.3GhZ after the bios, the PC shuts down and then boot

    thanks

There is a new version of the rom RSTe 3.1.0.2101
Asus will update it in the next bios?

Or if anyone can change, I know it is possible

With drivers AHCI/RAID 3.1.0.1085, you have to do manipulation in the ownership of each disc, otherwise the write performance is extremely low, and the boot is very long
I don't know if this update will change anything

Anyone else have any thoughts on the new BIOS files for the X79 series? I just noticed there are a 1010 and 1104 for my X79 Pro.

Guys, I'm getting into 2011 late (since Ivy was not really worth waiting for ...), I just bought a 3930K with a mobo but I am not keen on it (Asrock Extreme9) and would much prefer either a Gene IV or a Rampage Formula, is the Gene a good performer (as other Gene's are)? The most vid cards I may have will be two for benching, most often just the one so I don't really need the full length mobo. What do you guys think? Also what is a good ram for benching and gaming? I do have four sticks of g.skill BBSE but I also have a pair of 2400 Team Xtreems, what can I expect out of either of these with x79? Any other rams you guys would recommend? I heard that x79 does not offer very high mem clocks but I have not been through this thread yet, if I can get up around 2600 I wuld be more than happy.

    Any input would be great.

I just flashed my R4E from the 0604 BIOS to the 1202, but now it’s stuck in a continuous loop with the iROG-1 firmware update.
When it reaches 100% it says firmware update successful it restarts I get the splash screen a few times and it goes back to the iROG-1 update, pressing delete doesn’t get me into the BIOS.

Well I swapped the GTX680 for a HD4650 and it looped twice and all is well.

I did try the other BIOS chip yesterday but it didn't help.

Thanks for the response Raja, you guys are the best.

No, not planned on current boards. Afaik the update is all about SAS so no point sticking these on current designs at all.

Standard debugging for something like this. Check with another PSU.
If that does not work contact ASUS Support and ask for RMA. It is worth replacing the PSU too in case it has a faulty rail (you cannot test it properly with a DMM orm cheap PSU rail voltage tester).

I did try with another PSU, but the result is the same. The current PSU is working on another PC perfectly fine. I'll have to return the motherboard to my supplier than. Thanks for the help.

For h24 (RIVE) is better to be "High" or "Ultra High" for the LLC?
And 1.34v for the vcore in h24 is reasonable (WC)?

    Thanks

A while ago I complained about the EPU and other power saving technologies causing inconsistent performance in Windows in regards to my P9X79 Pro. Just wanted to come back and say that it was just AMD's rubbish crossfire technology and that now I have SLI the power saving is causing me no problems or stuttering at all.

About the Offset with RIVE. With an OC to 4.5, 4.6ghz, it's better to use the "Vcore fixed" or "Offset"?

For 4.5ghz, is stable at 1.285v (LLC High)
To set the offset, must be put Vcore to Auto, reboot, and if the Vcore is 1.35v.

    I have to 1.35v - 1.28 = 0.07
    Offset = - 0.07v

    That's right?

    LLC to "Medium" ou "High"?
The motherboard does not risk anything with these rising tensions (~ 1v idle and 1.30v Load)?

    Thanks

crossfire issue p9x79 deluxe Firepro v8800

    Greetings,

I know Ive allready posted this on HARDforum ( username: CADharsis ) but I thought, more eyes on this might be helpful to solve this issues.

    so here it is:

I`m constantly getting a systemfreeze, when trying to enable CrossfireX (or shortly after) on my two Firepro v8800. I`ve never had any problems with this cards in my old system and both of them seperated are working without any issues in this new build. I had even tested them together (Crossfire disabled) in luxmark and and Aida64 with no Problems.

    my System Specs:

MB: Asus P9X79 DELUXE (BIOS 2002)
    CPU: i7 3960x
    GPU: 2x FirePro V8800 (Driver 8.911.3.3000 isv)
    RAM: 2x Corsair CMX32GX3M4A1600C1 (64GB)
    PSU: Corsair TX850W
    SSD: Crucial M4 256 GB
    O/S: Windows 7 64bit Professional SP01

I did a clean Win7 installation I updated every driver and the MOBO (2002) BIOS... recognized that the newest chipsetdrivers are more than one year old.
I also tested older GPU drivers.......no luck

The system is prime95-stable both cards did very well running Furmak.
    Memtest shows no issues.........

The cards are installed in slot 1 and 4, as recommended. Ive allready tested the other ones with same results

My old System had never had any problems running both cards in CF

All Temps are OK.....I don`t know what to do anymore

    any suggestions?

    thank you
