Gabe, to be totally blunt for a minute yes, people get impatient but they don't get upset with you for one simple reason:
You tell them the truth as you know it good or bad.
That's what I've always liked about you.
In a world were everyone lies, cheats and tries to screw over everyone, you just tell the truth.
So FK the production schedules, when they get here they get here!

How wide are the 140mm radiators? Just curious to see if they will fit in 5.25" bays.

    'bout time.

You need to have some patience Gabe, I was at work when you posted. I think I can wait until then without ripping anyone's head off and then I can pull the Magicool 140 and MCR120 and put a pair of MCR140's in a Cubitech Mini tank and finally finish it. Any word on a MSRP for the 140?

Gabe, Stephen - thanks for updates

I'm just curious - Stephen, when you said APD2 are in transit - where are they coming from? I'm guessing they coming to you guys, to California? But where from?

I know, I probably sound like total impatient loony, but I'm sure you guys understand this excitement - this is not just an another watercooling item - this is mega combo that people were waiting for a long time - best water block combined with best pump! This is the answer for all prayers!

    MCR140-QP and MCR240-QP come without built-in reservoir.

Sure but that'll come at the cost of performance. Should be a decent "band aid" until we release the special base plate for it

The silicon of the 7970 & 7950 is .2mm below the frame. So your 82 is sitting on the frame, not on the GPU.

Some manufacturers use a shim to compensate. Such solution adds a performance robbing TIM joint as you might realize.

    I have designed:

    • a new base plate for the 82 which is specific to 7970 & 7950.
    • a hold-down plate which is specific to the 54mm hole to hole distance (standard is 53.2)
    • a cross-bracket identical to the stock solution (with AMD’s blessings)

All these parts should arrive within 2 to 3 weeks.

Meanwhile, using thick thermal pad as a gap filler. But if your temps don't drop at least into the 60's then re-install the stock cooling.

[Edit] I see that Stephen ok'd a shim.. I think you might want to save your dough for now, and use thermal pad if you have some. Give it a try.. The spacing between frame and silicon as I said is very tiny (0.2mm) so a pad will fit. Less than ideal thermal conductivity granted, but a cheap bandaid for now.

    http://www.swiftech.com/locations.aspx :-)

Our factory (100% Swiftech US subsidiary) is located in Shenzhen. Air transit takes less than a week.

and btw, I can't blame you for being impatient, I'm too

This is why I love my Swiftech stuff. Gabe and Stephen have responded to everyone of my emails and done so quickly. He responded with this little tidbit of info and I was going to post it up here, but as usual, he is quicker than I am. I will give it a try Gabe and Stephen and let you guys know what I come up with to hold me off till the proper solution becomes available. Thank you so much for the personal support you guys give here.
