Abouting time they cut off that mostly unused PCB space. I wonder about the cost savings. The VRM section is next to the HDMI, DVI, etc. ports, like in the HD7870.
I love what NV is doing this generation. Their chips are still inferior to ATI's efficiency wise, but a lot closer than in the past, and the rest is just perfect.
