Could you get per core overclocking thing working? Mine wouldn't go above the one set for 4 cores. Tries 45,46,47,48 for each utilization and tried LinX with one core. Also when I set this in UEFI it would show a weird CPU clock when POSTing.

One more thing. Does Intel Rapid Start work? I could not install the intel driver (tried the one for z77 extreme4 board and the one from intel itself.)

I haven't tested all the features yet. I did downgrade to UEFI 1.1 through pure DOS then flashed to 2.02 through instant update though. The idea behind that was to get as "clean" of a flash as possible as so much is different in this UEFI.

let us know when you have.

also, i measured the cold boost post speed vs before (i had a video of 1.70 i think) and it was almost same, but warm boot post is pretty quick.

I may not get chance to fully test L2.02 as soon as I thought, a Z77 Extreme6 is on its way I've found with the time I have been using L2.02 that both cold and warm boot are fast for me, but I disable all the stuff I don't use in the UEFI so that probably speeds things up. To date though I haven't had any problems with L2.02 at all, I'd say 2.02 is more stable than any other UEFI and thats simply incredible as 95%+ of the UEFIs for the Z68 E4 (betas included) have been exceptionally stable. All I want now is for the Z77 to improve on my OC of 4.7GHz @ 1.4v being able to run 9-9-9-25 1N timings @ 1866 on the Z77 would be nice too. CL10 @ 1866 doesn't sit with me right.

Excellent. I'll update the Z68 E4 to it but I won't have chance to test it for a while, I'm fast running out of room in my test environment with 5 PCs up.

was playing with the OC settings.

managed to get 4.5GHz stable at 1.312~1.320V (in CPU-Z) at full load using no LLC. with LLC, i would get idle BSODs at that Vcore. also running all power saving features and offset volts. also using lowest PLL Voltage (1.586V) without any issues. Everything else at AUTO.

    Unhappy

Lucid Virtu driver is installing as Trial for me (in about page it shows as 30-day trial). I believe it is after this UEFI update. Wondering if it broke the Lucid license. Can someone confirm?

I wonder if I should install Lucid MVP now.

There maybe other fixes. But don't have to fix what is not broken.

Hello, I come back again to this forum as I allways do from time to time when I got a problem with my hardware. I got the Z68 extreme4 and a 60GB Corsair GT SSD with 2x4GB of some fast ram and a 2600K the past year. It was a good purchase, I didn't spend very much and my build times in visual studio improved a lot.

Right now I'm running windows8 x64 Release Preview and I have a problem with the disk performance. I don't think that the SSD cache is working at all. I have the 2.05 beta bios from Asrock, the first days I got a lot of crashes, I think due to not having Intel Management Engine installed. The bios is configured plain stock. I have just a regular 1.5TB drive and the 60GB SSD as cache in maximized mode.

The performance appears to be the same if I disable Intel Smart Response Technology cache. My Intel RST version is 11.1.0.1006. I have seen there are some win8 drivers for the raid controller that you can load in the windows installer but I am not able to install this drivers right now with windows already running.

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks.

After some days I must conclude that Windows 8 CP is not stable on my system. I have disabled the intel raid controller in the bios and used the marvell in IDE and the system freezes or crashes randomly too. Windows 7 is working perfectly on another partition right now so this is not about the bios at all, it is about win8/bios/drivers.

I have installed all the drivers that assrock has on the web with the 2.05 bios. This combo doesn't make a working win8 RP setup, at least with my hardware:

    2600K, 2x4GB Ripjaws 1600 DDR3@1.6v, 1.5TB HD, nVidia Geforce 560Ti.

I hope that Asrock releases a win8 friendly bios/drivers soon.

Win8 is still experimental (and crap as a whole), you wern't seriously expecting everything to be perfect with everything ironed out were you Issues such as that are inevitable with experimental software, its incomplete and unpolished. It would of been a much wiser idea to use what is polised and refined, namely, a 64 bit version of Win7.

Hehe, yeah I know. The problem here is that i really need to use win8. I need to migrate a visual studio 2010 project to visual studio 2012 / Windows SDK 8, D3D11.1. And to test the graphics properly I need to be natively in windows8, I can't even use a VM

    Thanks!
