So the new performance chip from Nvidia is 50% faster than GTX 580 in average, with half the bandwith and less than half die size. Impressive if true.

Uhm, no? GTX 580 has 0.2% more bandwith, 192.4GB/s vs 192GB/s. And the size is far from half the size of GTX 580, it's much larger.
