I had exactly this problem with Tri Sli on this board. I disabled HPET and all works fine. I did this ages ago it was with 580 GTX cards. I had the same problem on Rampage 4 Xtreme also and again disable HPET and all is fine.

I need some help from the MIVE gurus on this board. I just replaced my UD4-B3 with a MIVE and I love it...but I'm having a hard time figuring everything out. I'm trying to get my chip stable at 5GHz but it doesn't seem to like anything I'm doing. Here's the quick rundown:
- Chip passes 20 loops of LinX at 4.9GHz with 1.392v loaded and internal PLL overvoltage "OFF". PLL voltage has been set to 1.7v and VCCIO is at 1.0v, everything else is left on auto.
- PWM is set to extreme with a frequency of 350 and LLC of 75% in all cases.
- All C states are disabled
- GSkill DDR3-1600 cas6 @ 1600MHz 1.5v
- BIOS 2001
I have tried up to 1.45v and the chip just won't pass LinX for more than 7 seconds before it locks up with a 101 BSOD. 3DMark11, Vantage, and 2006 all complete in loops without fail. Normal operations work just fine with 1.425v (1.416v loaded). Internal PLL is still off but it makes no difference if I set it to on. VCCIO has been adjusted up to 1.12v and PLL dropped to as low as 1.65v. Am I just missing something here? Should I enable the C-States or is there a voltage I need to tweak?

did you try CL7 instead of pushing RAM ? are u using 16GB ?
if your chip can boot internal PLL OFF at x50 its a good one mate, mine its like that exact im stable at 1,435 SET ON BIOS, but i dont punish it with linx as it means nothing you can pass linx and fail prime i just use it ALL day gamme BF3 and heavy games thats are my test
just put 1,43 on BIOS the other settings i see are OK and have fun stop punishing you will only degrade it, just have fun, game etc and if in a week you see a 124/101 BSOD while normal op just notch vcore a bit
cheers and nice move i love MIVE

Thanks for the quick reply!
I'm using 4GB of RAM at the moment because I'm waiting on my new 8GB kit to come in from Corsair. It's rated at CAS6 @ 1600MHz and will do CAS9 @ 2133MHz, but I leave it at the default CAS6 when trying to push the system. I can loosen the timings to CAS7 and see if that helps.
I usually only run about 5 loops of LinX but for some reason I wanted to try for the mythical 20 pass test. I shouldn't have done it because it's frustrated me, but oh well. I'm going to play MW3, BF3, and Skyrim tonight once the baby gets to sleep so hopefully it will be okay. I'm still stumped at how a chip can execute every day to day task and gaming without problems but never make a pass on LinX...is LinX that hard on CPUs?
Thanks again

Im finding a very similar thing but getting 124 bsod's. I've moved from a P8P67-Pro which was stable for months at 5ghz but couldnt run the black pair of slots over 18.66x divider (no post with any kit i tried). I've now got 16gb stable at 2133mhz on the M4E but cant push over 4.8ghz. Im also unable to use offset voltage because of 124 bsod's at idle and finding I need more voltage at the cpu for equal clock speeds. Its been a real disappointment so far and Im considering swapping back and putting up with the ram at 1866mhz rather than lose several hundred mhz cpu speed and power saving features.
I've been trawling forums trying to find tips - despite messing with all sorts of voltages/memory timings/digi+ stuff its still most stable with everything at auto and xtreme mode enabled.
I also cant boot with LLC 100% using offset voltage, it reboots just before the login screen.
This board is undoubtedly awesome with memory clocking though, it worked immeadiately with 4x4gb 2133mhz. However it leaves the impression of being a true benchers board and isnt really something I can live with 24/7. On the Pro my offset for 5ghz stable is +0.80v (1.08v idle). The M4E needs +170 to avoid 124 bsods at idle right down to 4.6ghz (1.28v idle) - offset just doesnt work right.
I may try a PSU swap to see if it just doesnt like my psu for some reason (910w silencer - seasonic based), though its a massive operation as ive got everything zip tied in.
PiLsY why use offset ? i have the same thing chips degrade or settle over time, i runt my chip that its a x56 and x50 stable INT PLL OFF at 1,425 with HT but since i did the Parking Core mod i need a bit more food so i run 1,435 and my patriots 16GB 2133 CL9 push the IMC so well, thats what is needed to be stable, but i dont run prime or linx over hours as it was proven for me and others that u can be gamming hard and have BSOD so i just observe the PC On the week, as its my only PC i use it for all, for download overnite and gamme heavy gammes with VGA OC'd so thats it if i find a BSOD i just correct and test again using a bit of vcore. OFFSET volts need way lot of vcore on idle to be stable thats also tested not only by me.
cheers and good luck

well i dont honestly know what is happening latest MIVE ive seen do that, 2 of my friends got MIVE from US to my country and both using TRI SLI and SLI one could solve the problem and it was magic from a day to other all went good and never happened again, my other friend can run 1 card and second wont be recognized no matter what you do, or if it does you have to restart PC to recognize then it goes away again
i think rajaAsus should be here on this thread also or maybe PM him he is very active on the RIVE thread

Works perfect on the Pro though - I have both set up at the moment and can swap the cpu between them. I feel far happier running 1.53v load if its dropping down to 1.08v idle. There's no way Id want to run over 1.45v 24/7 on manual fixed voltage. I just really expected the M4E to be everything the Pro was and more.
Definitely no 124 idle problems on the Pro using low offset and 100% LLC at 5ghz. Then again you cant set extreme phase on the M4E and enable offset, you can on the Pro.
I need to test with a different psu but both my units are seasonic S2 based so im stuffed really. It feels power related and fiddling in the digi+ settings can make it better/worse.
Over the Holidays I decided to switch two of my bench stations over from air to water. On air I had been running ~4.6Ghz with ~1.312/1.320v (load) but with my new improved cooling I've bumped up my o.c. first to 4.8Ghz with ~ 1.35v (load) and now again to 5.0Ghz. I'm still working on my loop... I recycled some parts from an old watercooled AMD socket 939 rig along with a new Phobya Extreme 400 and a Swiftech Apogee HD. The new setup seems somewhat like a Corsair H100 on steroids.

great looking bench setup PolRoger
and PiLsY I would recommend not using offset on the MIVE as Sergio stated, it is much more unstable than using fixed volts, I sold both my P8P67 Pro's but I remember offset working incorrectly there as well (overshooting on vcore big time), but I never tested it with a mature bios.

Have you tried turbo additional voltage? I also found offset to be a little unstable especially with c3/c6 enabled but setting offset to 0.005 (since 0 is taken as 'auto') and using ~0.3V for additional turbo voltage VID can reach ~1.5V with the higher turbo multi's while dropping vcore below 1V when idle using c3/c6.
Guys, help me please. I connect the fans to terminals OPT_FAN 1/2/3, but the programms (AIDA, AI Sute) dose not determine their.

After pretty exhaustive testing it looks like for whatever reason my Pro clocks the cpu better than my M4E. I figured out the M4E needs 0.015 to 0.02v extra to equal the clocks I can get on the Pro. The main thing bugging me is I always get a BSOD instead of an error.
Offset works perfectly on the Pro, so something is definitely different about the implementation between the boards. You can forget about offset voltage at anything over 4.2ghz on the M4E unless you ramp up the offset insane amounts to avoid idle BSODs. Im actually on a minus offset on the Pro (due to LLC) up to 4.6ghz, then all I need is +10mv / +25mv / +50mv / +80mv to do 4.7ghz, 4.8ghz, 4.9ghz and 5.025ghz respectively.
I can hit 5.25 for validations on the Pro using manual voltage 1.55v in bios with 100% LLC for 1.544 idle in windows. Instant desktop BSOD's on the M4E at 51x or higher no matter the volts.
Like I said before it feels like there's a problem on the power plane somewhere - the only thing I can think of is that perhaps the board doesnt like the older Seasonic S2 based PSU's?
Thanks guys...
Sergio- The bench table model is a Dimastech "Hard". I actually purchased an "Easy/Hard" combo a little over a year ago and I'm currently running the "Easy" table with my FX-8150 combo. It too was converted to water and I'm now running an Alphacool NexXxos UT 360/XPSC Raystorm block. As far as the new Apogee HD... it seems fine. I've read that it is supposed to be a little less restrictive and offers a small improvement over the XT v.1.2 but I have limited experienced running water. It seems most likely that all of the late generation blocks are competitive with each other these days.

@PiLsY- That seems odd that your MIVE doesn't clock as well with "offset" vcore as your other Pro board does...
I have an P67 EVO and I've never noticed a difference when using offset as compared to my MIVE. I ran overnight at 5.0Ghz "crunching" WCG (~16 hrs.) with fixed vcore but I'll try testing it with "offset" as I was running my previous daily o.c. of 4.6/4.7Ghz using the offset method.
Ryzen 9 on the test bench... Sometimes older generation/tech as well.
Just managed to get it Linx stable but it takes 1.552v load 1.520v idle. Just not useable as a daily clock compared to the pro using offset at 1.536v load 1.080v idle.
I will admit it was a complete luxury "upgrade" just to get 4 sticks at 21.33x, but its a total shock that I cant get the same cpu clocks. I was sneakily hoping for a little more tbh!

My 2500k is LinX stable at 5.0Ghz with 1.43v loaded on bios 1409. I can drop the voltage to 1.41 loaded and while it can't complete 20 loops of LinX, it can heavy game and handle all of my daily use without problems. If I can't be in the club then oh well, my system runs great either way.

I love the black one wish i can bring one here but weight and size is a matter thru customs
as for what Pilsy is doing i dont agree but well he is the owner of the hardware inmo doing linx at such high load its busting the chip with no purpose, as i explained even on a crappy cheap Asus offset works fine just take more vcore a way more and aint stable as manual
for ex my SAME chip 5GHz stable HT ON on the MIVE manual vcore needed 1,45 load
and on the Asus cheap board u only reach 4.8GHZ on SAME vcore more leads to unstable and imposible
cheers to all
