    ^On cold?

Switched memory kits back to DomGT 2000's. Played around a while and ran a few benches. W7-64, daily OS no tweaks, water cooling.

CPU score in 06 is about the same here at 5200mhz as i7 2600k was a 5600mhz, but 3d took a hit because of lower cpu freq and OS I am using.

That kinda sux for a $600.00 chip. I havent tried on cold yet but 5280ish is max I am able to boot. Not sure if cold will help, or if I will even try it. I think 1155 for benching is still the best.

It was very tight screwing the 4 posts down, is there any way to be sure I didn't over tighten it? Would it damage the CPU? I'm afraid of crushing the pins or whatever. The board is running just fine and I'll be overclocking it today using the excellent info in this thread.
Hmm. Have you tried watching this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=H3myiMEW3EM You just use the stock bracket as far as i can recall.

I am also trying a 16gb quad kit of Mushkin enhanced redline/ridgeback. They will run stable at 2133 9 10 9 28 using the tight PSC profile, but the gskill wont boot with the the same profile. Need to use the hynix profile for gskill.
I cant get 32mb Linx stable mate with these timings. I am prime stable though. I can get 16gb stable though Linx and Prime etc. 16gb I run VCCSA at 1.25v and VTT 1.25 for 2400 10 11 10 28 2T DRAM at 1.65. which Bios you running as settings change slightly with each Bios. Those are with 0901. Set Rampage tweak to mode 1.

Not sure if you saw this, but Massman may be on to something here - http://hwbot.org/forum/showpost.php?...3&postcount=27

It may help decide whether to go cold. I can't test it for certain since I don't have a way to go sub-zero.

To save all that rebooting just see if the CPU will POST over DDR3-2600, almost all that will do 5.5 or so. We've binned many in the lab, and that's the quickest way.

Uh oh....wonder what that means my cap will be cold? Mine stops ~DDR3-2370 with RAM I know are capable of 2600. I'm guessing 5.3 maybe?. It has a brick wall at 5.1 on ambient.

Yeah that is a good method for quick testing. I suspected I had a crappy chip when I couldn't do 5.3 with h20, but I had to check sub zero anyway and sure enough 5295 is max benchable. Oh well the chip does 5Ghz np so Ill sell it and grab a new lotto ticket

Has anyone tried benching in SLI yet? I keep running into BCCode 116s despite setting PCH voltage to 1.25v - is this correct? I do this for X58 so I figured it should carry over.

Edit: Ugh, never mind, that was a silly question. My video cards were clocked too high; have since lowered PCH voltage.

Getting bored so I am trying all the ddr3 kits I have. Put this kit of hyperx in and in AIDA64 the Read Write and Copy went up a little and latency is a bit better. Its just as 4x1gb kit but something to play with.

Only one day after you - I always aim to please

Just boot 'em up once on the 125 BCLK multiplier with the memory set at 2600 and you are done.

I just made som run today. SLI GTX570 @ 929mhz and the CPU at 4875mhz with 125 strap. I dont touch the PCH volts ad everything is fine. This is with 1.485 vcore bios. and 1.275 VCCSA. I crashed at 5ghz with same volts +1 multi when i ran 3Dmark11.

Maybe someone can give me some pointers about the memory.

I got the 3960x to an easy 4750 on air with 1.45v in vcore (only with a 125 strap, as with 100 it keeps giving me windows 0xc0000225 errors, even at 4.3ghz).
I'm on air still until the weekend, so on linx its reaching 75c which is enough for me, at least for now.

I'm got a couple of sets of F3-17000CL9D-8GBXM from g.skill to play around with (I don't want to rip my current system out to get the dominator gt 2000 out just yet).
Setting the main timings works fine with mode 2 for 9-11-10-28-2, but I can't get them to 2000mhz for the life of me. On auto they stand at 1666mhz and boot fine, linx run and prime runs fine.
System won't boot on anything over auto. Getting 0d or 01 errors on the led.

I set the dram to 1.65v, vtt to 1.3v for a start.
Anything else I need to set in order to get them stable?

Increase VCCSA to around 1.15V and also use the Hynix profile to start off with. If that does not work, see if the system will POST using the loose max MHz profile.

Thanks I will try the VCCSA.

Using the profile you mean loading the hynix profile and than setting the main timings to the memory spec ones, or just load and reboot?

Depending upon how good the bin of those kits is, you may or may not get the specified timings using double the capacity that the modules were qualified at. Load the profile and make no changes for now, work on the primary settings after you get a sniff of stability.

BAH! Cannot give get my PC stable at all any more. No idea what I'm doing differently. Was hoping to get 5.1Ghz re-verified but it's a no go

Can we get some BIOS templates & people sharing some working settings? Perhaps a guide to get a stable 5ghz?
