is there a asrock fatality section on this forum?
btw i took both sticks out and replaced one at a time in different slots...still no power....no led screen...nothing. bad memory would have to at least power on with the led screen indicating something
Probably a DOA board or duff PSU.

"Negative.." people DO "ditch" this board(p67 prof) mainly for one reason.. it was essentially identical to the Extreme6 (not extreme4) , and the added cost for that extra IDE port was too hard to justify.., same pros/same cons/same bugs with Extreme6 (buggy Etron drivers :S for example) and a bit better in CPU Vregulation(Prof & Extr6 in favor of Extr4), useful only in really high o/c i think, as SB is a really low power consumption cpu even at high clock speeds.
As for the "Thermal Issues" you insisting (on the other thread about gen3).. you must be kidding right?P67 consumes only 6.1watt according to Intel's datasheets... the Heatsinks on all line-up models, are more than adequate for the job, plus.. you don't need to stress them as you cant increase bclock, and VChip has negligible gains if any.
To sum up.. i use the P67 Prof for 7 months, in a case with max fan speed (the back end fans) 1150rpm... and even in the hot Greek summer i had no problem(no problem i mean, no bsod/instability/etc)

How much energy the chipset uses has nothing to do with the simple fact the cooling solution on the Fatality board is not as good as the cooling on the Extreme boards. Why would you want unessessary heat through inefficient HS design? The 65nm process intel are still using on their chipsets will also not help in the slightest when it comes to keeping any generated heat to a minimum. Then theres the MOSFETs to consider, by nature they generate quite a bit of heat, the HS design for the MOSFETs on the Extreme boards is just better as well. Eitherway thats not why I'm here. As I stated, what the user chooses to buy is entirely up to them but from the standpoint of which board offers superior thermal efficiency through HS design, its the Extreme boards.

The users are having problems with all versions of the drivers.
See this Australian forum: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum...?t=1785632&p=2
They are starting to RMA the Asrock mainboard and exchange it for Asus.
Over here in Hungary there is a forum "Which type of PC should I buy", at beginning Asrock was favorite, but when the problems with the Etron USB 3.0 host controller have appeared they are not recommending anymore anything which is containing Etron.
I hope Asrock knows how serious this issue is.
With the newest beta driver the Etron issue isn't all that bad, the controller works with all devices I have, transfer rates to 3 different USB pen drives I have are good (even better with xfast), and any issues you do have problems with, particularly USB 1.1 and 2.0 devices, just stick them in the USB2 ports.

Thanks Ket, but I have resolved my problems by buying an Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3 motherboard.
No issues with USB 3.0. It just works. No BSOD, no beta drivers, no long shutdowns, no ignored support requests.
In fact my new motherboard is boring, I don't have anything to fix or experiment with drivers. It has only one BIOS release, but that one is working flawlessly.
The P67 Extreme4 was my first and last Asrock branded product.

ok so my motherboard wiped my cpu out..both had to be warrantied..intel sent me another i2500k and asrock sent me another board..the problem is this....i dont have a cpu ratio adjustment in the bios, only turbo to 4.8 ghz. asrock installed the latest 2.1 bios and my mouse movement in bios is twacked out..can i go back to a previous version?
Yes you can go back to a previous version. It's pretty odd that you are having that issue though. I've been running 2.1 without issue for quite some time now. Is your mouse plugged into a USB 3.0 port or 2.0? Try using the 2.0 ports.
Are you able to adjust the multiplier from within windows using the ASRock Extreme Tuner application?

New drivers, but the chip on the motherboards remains the same. Look at this thread:
http://forum.mediasonic.ca/viewtopic...2&t=704&p=2969
I tend to believe that the chip has some flaws which can't be entirely corrected by new drivers.
At least Intel had the decency to admit the flaw in the Sandy Bridge chipset (the famous SATA2 issue). I think Etron should do the same, but maybe this will never happen.
well if they go straight to 2.1 that only fixes whatever issue it was supposed to fix...doesnt mean it resolves all previous bios fixes..so i probably need to revert back and then move forward...but im also confused why i dont have the cpu ratio option in the bios..i can adjust but not sure how far within windows asrock tuner

i reverted back to a previous version that fixed the mouse movement..thanks for the reply but, thats not a true statement about 2.1 includes all fixes. also i got the ratio to show up..thank you

then why was my mouse movement all wonky with 2.1 and as soon i flashed 1.7 it was resolved? why isnt each newer bios a bigger file than the previous ones? why is 1.7 a bigger file than 2.1? so youre telling me all the fixes are in 2.1 even though its a smaller file? the reason u update to a bios is to fix a certain issue..not resolve all issues previously
Hi guys, i'm having a couples of errors on windows and i think it's because of one driver device what isn't install property, anyone can help me?

Hi guys.
Just got my new SSD and want to do RAID 0 with my same old Intel X25-m (both are x25-m G2). However, I have some strange problem here.
1: First, went to BIOS and set SATA mode to RAID ( Both of my ssd are on SATA3_0 and SATA3_1). Marvel sata 3 boot = disable
2: Boot up, CTRL + I to enter the raid configuration, create a RAID 0 with strip size = 64kbs -- > success.
3: Insert my Win 7 - 64 bit installation USB stick, win 7 ask for RAID driver, browse to this asrock RAID driver (http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.as...reme4&o=Win764) but got the error windows ( can not find new device etc..) thus I cant select my RAID driver to install windows to. Tried both 32bit and 64 bit driver but doesnt help.
My BIOS version is P1.50
Few notes : After RAID was created and working fine ( RAID driver working status = normal in RAID creation process CTRL+I) , so my data on one of my SSD ( Bootable Win 7 ) should be gone, however for some reason all the date are still remains and I'm posting this thread on my "should be gone" windows !!
Should update my BIOS ?
Anybody can helps ? Thanks
Edit 1 : Updated to 2.0 BIOS, download nest RAID driver from Intel themself and recheck Asrock RAID driver but still does not help. What to do now![]()
