Merging ATI and Nvidia would only just barely equal the market share by Intel alone. I stand by what I said; AMD is an acquisition target; either by a private firm or some one like nVidia. To be honest buying them after their stock tanks Q1 2012 would be cheaper than trying to work a deal with Intel for an x86 liscense
