Corsair Force GT 128GB, RAID 0 issues

I've recently installed two Corsair Force 128GB GT's in RAID 0, 32k stripe. I have them connected via ICH10R on my Gigabyte GA-EP45-U3DP.

Windows 7 x64 install went very fast and smooth.

But now i am getting random freezes and BSOD's. Sometimes when gaming, most times when just browsing the web.
When the computer recovers from the BSOD it's guaranteed that one of the SSD drives will not be recognized (always just one, and not the same one) and as result my system will fail to boot. If i reset via reset button SSD most likely won't be recognized again.
If i do a hard power down from the PSU and back on everything will boot up normal without issue.

    Other systems specs
    Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ stock 2.83 GHz
    Silverstone 800W PSU
    EVGA 295 GTX
    4x2GB Crucial DDR2-800

Any advice on what the issue is?

Sounds like a SandForce controller issue. You might have to try updating the FW.

It seems like that could be the fix but unfortunately you can not update the Firmware when the drives are in RAID.

    Thanks for the links.

Update them with the controller in AHCI mode using another drive or a "live" CD of Windows, then put them back in RAID-0. Problem solved.

I reconnected my previous install of W7 on another HD and booted from there. Once switching over to AHCI in windows and the bios the firmware update took the expected 10 seconds. IDE mode did not work.

I thought i bricked my drive as it wasn't being recognized by my mobo and therefore windows. But it was recognized after another restart so all was good.

After switching the Mobo back over to RAID it recognized the drives fine but for some reason they were out of there port order and Windows failed to boot. I restarted the system to ensure settings were right in the bios and i didn't adjust anything but Windows booted fine after that.

I'm not sure if its the RAID array or the SSD's, but sometimes they are finnicky about being recognized after a restart.

Long story short, you can switch your system over to AHCI and boot from another drive to flash new firmware.

Hopefully this resolves the BSOD and random freezing issues!
